Science fiction : Recondite facts

Science fiction : Recondite facts

It must have been late afternoon when the plane flew over me and unlike my childhood days, I knew what were the factors that helped it to maintain its flight. There was nothing recondite about it. Nevertheless, even in 2023 there are many facts that remain a mystery to this day.

Take for example :

  • Traveling faster than light ( Which I believe may not be possible, because then everything around us, including us, will change its form. Even the parameters of time will change, so travelling faster may not be impossible. But when made possible,  the science of changing physical states of humans while not losing their conscience or memories, will be a challenge.

And due to this reason it is a new discipline of science that we should invest in, because anything that will travel faster than light, will undergo a physical change, because its mass and dimensions will change.

  • Time and its manipulation

  • Worm holes ( Although I believe there are none. But there are pathways across the universe that shorten the distance from point A to point B. For one simple reason, the universe is a gigantic space )

  • Dark energy ( These are divine secrets and should be revealed only at appropriate time; and only to the deserving minds, with beautiful hearts )

  • Dark matter ( Again these are divine secrets and should be revealed only at appropriate time; and only to the deserving minds, with beautiful hearts )

  • Unifying theory of everything ( According to me this too is possible and the clues are already there. With some application of little more thought and by using an AI model with right arguments and conditionals, generating the unifying, or ultimate theory about everything is possible )

  • Quantum mechanics ( Well this is a fascinating topic. I understand what it refers to and what it is capable of achieving. But I am yet to understand a few aspects. Once I am done, maybe then I will be in a better position to comment on it. As of now, most of the physicists are grappling with this topic )

  • Green energy ( Recently I watched a program where it showed Finland’s advanced engineering. They are developing an underground system of tunnels to dump radioactive waste, in the casing of iron, covered with copper, that is finally sealed in cases of special earth. And then it is left to decay in these cases for thousands of years. Though nuclear power will catapult human civilisation to new heights of advancement, we are still unable to develop a truly green source of energy. Again, it is already being used in nature and happening right in front of us, but we need to pay a little extra attention if we are to develop an energy source that is green and clean.)

  • Super powerful computing machines ( Again there is no need to develop a quantum computer, because we already have the technology to develop super powerful computers that will process data far exceeding the capabilities of quantum computers. I call it dedicated computing machines that work in sets. Anyway, let us wait and watch, maybe a true quantum computer is something like a quantum leap in the computing world. Who knows. But I still believe we can create a super quantum computer based on the existing technology. Without having to reinvent the wheel.

There are many other mysteries that leave us puzzled even today. But in 2023, with the given advancements in science, I believe it is the most propitious time to explore new scientific ideas, something I call “Brave Science.” Where we dare to propose concepts like gravity, time, string theory etc.

As of now we are only improvising on what the bygone generation of scientists left for us to tinker with mentally. In terms of new concepts, there is almost nothing.

They say, there are worm holes. But I say, there are none, but there are pathways in the universe that shorten travel time. And it is a huge network where many factors need to be taken into account prior to working on a project of this scale. It will be a massive scientific undertaking. For many obvious reasons far bigger than CERN, because it will need a lot of data. But once done, we can cover the distance of many light years in a few years. Now that is science, and that is why I call it “Brave Science.” Where you dare to think differently and work on your idea with such dedication that you finally prove that you were right.

Let us consider the following numbers:

Imagine you are at point 7 and you are supposed to reach point 52. And the rest of the numbers represent the galaxy, if not the universe you live in. And each number represents a force, a celestial body etc. etc. So there are infinite possibilities to reach from point 7 to point 52. But the right and shortest possibility is what will matter the most when it comes to space travel at galactic level. And this is the kind of science we should be invested in, in 2023. Maybe via this blog post I am indirectly attempting to promulgate this concept because I strongly believe it is possible and it is the only way to create real wormholes.

And there is no room for error, when it comes to this. Because then, while we are enroute to point 52, it may happen that we leave our point of origin i.e. point 7 and we never arrive at point 52, because we entered into a maze like dimension of gravity where the universe that we are in. Now, loops in and loops out, and we remain oscillating between points 7 and 14. Unable to reach point 52.

In space laws of known physics work to some extent, but in higher dimensions most of them fail. So we shall be left on the seesaw of gravity and other forces, where one pulls us outwards and the other one pulls us inwards. And it will be impossible to break free from this tug between forces, until the celestial bodies in the network of forces around this space, either disintegrate or fuse together, to alter the dynamics of this tug. And then perhaps release us or expatriate us completely.

And we are lucky that we are in 2023, because today brave science does not tantamount to profanity. Like it did a century ago. The scientist who dared to be too bold, was not prosecuted, but certainly persecuted. And, with this liberty that we enjoy in 2023, if we still refrain from brave science, then we definitely need to re-think and reassess our scientific acumen as well as caliber.

Every scientific venture is worth trying, worth attempting, because there is nothing prodigal about science. But I believe in 2023, we humans have so many mental and physical preoccupations that we have lost scientific proclivity.

And this blog post is a humble attempt to revive this scientific proclivity and dare to be brave. I also took this personal quest a little further, by writing a very interesting science fiction novel, They Loved in 2075.

It refers to many brave scientific ideas while not losing touch with reality because it is set in 2075, when humans are struggling to deal with extreme Climate Change and Global Warming. But few humans have developed special adaptations that help them cope with these changing climatic conditions and extreme global warming. However, humans are surrounded by self aware machines and this alters their ability to emote like sensitive humans. In the midst of this, the main character in this scifi novel falls in love with a beautiful woman, who struggles to express her feelings like a human being.

They loved in 2075, is a romance science fiction, but it is about science, it is about human emotions, it is about self aware machines, it is about global warming. But most important of all, it is about your children and grandchildren, and how they will cope with the reality of 2075.

They Loved in 2075, is a science fiction where you are already at point 52, all you have to do is recall the way back home.

It is as easy as this and as complicated as this. Wondering how? Because home is where the heart is. And it is possible that now your heart is in love with point 52 and it is preventing you from recalling the way back to point 7. It can happen! That is why good and non invasive technology is a great means to achieving new goals. Because even when your heart is in love with point 52, the system that tracked the route from point 7 to point 52, will always be able to identify the route. Because for it 7 and 52 are nothing more than points or numbers, and it will follow your instructions no matter what.

And the science fiction novel, They Loved in 2075, raises this point as well.

Anyway, welcome to point 52!

Science fiction : What is smart?

Science fiction : What is smart?

“It is certainly not me!”

Argued a young lad, who looked like someone from downtown, with an accent and outward appearance that attested for it so conspicuously. He scuffled and then punched me. Even though I was easily older than him by 10 years.

He kept insisting again and again, “it is not me, you should believe me when I say this.”

“No, how can I! I saw you doing it and when you realised I had seen you, you left the book there and you ran away. You surely cannot fool me. But I am surprised, and still wondering why did you try to steal it from the shop? Why?”

Was my quick reaction!

The young lad, who now realised that I had indeed seen him when he was trying to steal the book from the shop, thought it might be a better idea to confess his crime and bear the mild consequences or else keep arguing and then face the dire consequences. It was a tough choice to make for a lad, hardly 15 years old. So he decided to confess and face the legal procedure, or whatever might follow.

“Even worse, if that is how it is meant to be, so be it then!” , I guess thought the boy.

And in his downtown accent he assured me that he would speak the truth and make an honest confession before me. And this is his confession,

“You see, I have been working on improvising smart phone technology, because the one people are using nowadays is so boring and common. Everyone uses it. It is a great tool that offers many conveniences, but the smartphones are too boring for me. They all look the same, they do the same thing, their applications are almost the same, they follow the same protocol of communication networks. There is nothing new. It is like old Nokia phone that experienced evolution, at the hands of the great and late Mr. Steve Jobs, but after his premature death, the smart phone technology has remained stagnant and every phone manufacturing company only focuses on improving the RAM, Processor and App based interactions of the phone. Once done they launch it as a new version of the old series.

There is nothing new you see. I am sure, if great and late Mr. Steve Jobs were here, he would hold his forehead in his hands and shout, “what the hell! Everything is the same and smartphones have not gotten any smarter since I left. Just by means of improving its processor and RAM and making it work on 5G networks does not mean it has progressed. Oh no, you could not get so stuck!”

So I am surreptitiously working on a smartphone that will be revolutionary and will be a next leap in smartphone technology. Using 5G networks on the current breed of smartphones, even if you added 20 GB RAM and you improved the processor by more than 100 times, would be almost like fitting a tuk tuk with a rocket engine. That is insulting and shameful! For both the tuk tuk and for the rocket.

And in order to understand a few circuits and processors of smartphones, I needed the book that you caught me stealing. It had the information that I needed, but, unfortunately its price was too steep for me to be able to pay. And I am poor with the art of swindling, so I opted for stealing instead, though my idea was to gather the information I needed and then place it back discreetly after I had read it in detail, or if I had the money by then, confess it to the shopkeeper and pay him the money. Now does this sound incendiary to you sir?”

I looked at him and without answering his question, I asked him a question instead.

“So how will your smartphone be different from the existing ones?”

And the lad looking at my face with  the innocence of 1000 angels replied, “Sir, it will be a lot different. The leading smartphone companies today are very busy either copying one another or in order to generate new sales they just add new smart features and change the outer design, and they launch the smartphone as the latest series of the popular smartphone.

I want to change all this and cause a major disruption in this sector, and redefine the phrase “smartphone” forever. Imagine a phone that can never get stolen, that can never fall, that is always with you, that can never be unlocked by anyone else except its owner, and most important of all, the communication networks that transfer voice or video in the form of bits, will travel in the form of QR code specific to each call. It will be so every time a call is made from the same phone. Security that nobody can breach. That is unless I stop improvising in every new model. And each model will be eco-friendly as far as its production line is concerned, because it will be based on a technology that will be ahead by 200 years easily.

But in order to do so, I needed to know how Processors and RAM work in smartphones along with the circuit board. With that information, I wanted to start working on the smartphone of the future. Well you see, I cannot tell you everything, just because you have caught me red handed and you threaten me with legal action. Which in the current circumstances  is not ignoble at all, but that does not make me obliged to share every secret of this futuristic smartphone with you. But let me add to the excitement a bit. And you definitely are not an incurious person, so I will share it with you because I want to.

Imagine a smartphone that is everything proof, yet extremely sleek in design and you will have to upgrade the phone every 2 years, but online. Via a few secret steps that I do not wish to share at this moment. And your phone will become as good as new and it will not be like the current generation of smartphones, only new in terms of design, whereas the fundamental design and the core components of the phone that make it smart are the same. I will change all this, and this phone, though it will use communication networks provided by the telecom service providers, but when you call, it will render that call exclusive because it will travel via a private network within the public network that the user is paying for.

You see, it will be like a rose and its scent. You can hold the rose petals, but can you hold its scent? Na, na, you cannot, nobody can. And humans have been working on networks that are like rose petals. I want to work on a new network that comes as an inbuilt feature with this new breed of smartphone, that converts this public, rose petal like network into a scent like network. It is possible sir, and I have tried it. Was I too ostentatious, well that is because of my marketing gene, but believe me, everything I said is true and doable.

A great businessman, always thinks different and also knows one important aspect of business, how to keep competitors busy by fooling them into believing that the company is working on something like this, but when the real product comes into the market, it is like they were thinking of the Moon but it turned out to be the Sun. That is the thrill of great business and then when you promote it with the flair of a marketing prodigy. You will sell and sell like hot cakes.

However, if the final product does not live upto its promise, then the business is bound to be doomed. So, one has to think of many aspects while working on grand ideas focused at creating a major disruption in the market. That is exciting and quite enthusing. At least I think so sir. Maybe that is why I did not hesitate to steal the book. But trust me, I would either have returned it or paid for it later. Yes, yes, I know it would still be a crime and I admit I committed it sir.

That much will be enough sir. I cannot share any more details.

Now, please let me know what to do and I shall oblige sir!”

I looked at him, still amazed and wondering how he could think of something this complex with so much ease. But I was convinced he would do it because he had the passion in him and he had the fire of the technological disruptor. So I let go of his collar.

I realised I had been holding it for almost 25 minutes now. The strain of the tightened collar had formed a red line half way across his neck, so the moment I released my grip on it, he breathed a little better, and his eyes that were bulging out a bit, instantly got sucked in again. And with a smile he kept staring at me. And I did not want to disappoint him. So I said, “You are free to go and work on your idea and work on disruptive technologies that promise more security, more convenience and do not alter the social and psychological makeup of human beings at individual and social level. If that is what your goal is, get up and walk a free man. But first let us go to the shopkeeper and I will pay for the book on your behalf.”

It was way back in 2023, when I met this young energetic boy. His energy was wild, relentless and yet so sensitive. That is why I liked the boy. And after 10 years, on a lazy afternoon when I was sitting beside the fireplace, the bell rang. When I opened the door, there was a postman, carrying a parcel for me.

I opened it and there was a small note that read, “a smart phone of the future that will stay smart for not less than 100 years. For the smartest and kindest man that I ever met. I hope you remember me sir!”

Ah, it was the boy, the same boy, who had finally developed his smart phone and I was the first one to receive it; because that night he launched it and we all saw it on the TV and internet. It surely was disruptive and I am still using it now, in 2075.

There was something about this young boy, something very exuberant and irresistible, and it was this energy that inspired me at this age to write the science fiction novel, They Loved in 2075.

It has nothing to do with the boy, it has nothing to do with me, but it has everything to do with you and your future generations ( your children and grandchildren ) who will be facing and dealing with the realities of 2075. What realities? For that, please explore the science fiction novel, They Loved in 2075. Be amazed and cultivate the sense of responsibility that we all owe to our children and grandchildren.

Well, I must go now, I think the same boy, whose collar I held, is calling me. He calls me sometimes. You see, he did not feel the need to remember how I almost strangled him with his own collar, but he considers it to be his responsibility to remember that I paid for his book. And this he has not forgotten.

So, good bye for now and do not forget to read the science fiction novel, They Loved in 2075. As for the boy’s smartphone, wait for him to call you. And he will call you, that is my promise!

Science fiction : A leaf from 2075

Science fiction : A leaf from 2075

There are many paradoxes, and most of them have a strong element of irony that is logically sensible; but in reality it would be better if the paradoxical irony could be disentangled from the reality that surrounds a paradox. Take for example the title of this short science fiction, “A leaf from 2075.”

With the given state of Global Warming and Climate Change the title of this blog post has a twin irony that it can be associated with: It is an oxymoron as well as a paradox. Not now in 2023, but in 2075, for our future generations it is very likely that it will be both.

And this is a short science fiction where a leaf from the future, 2075, travels backwards in time to caution us about being fatuous snobs when it comes to dealing with major global issues like: Global warming and Climate Change.

The short scifi story begins as follows:

It must have been 11:00 am, on a cold Saturday of December 2022, when I was strolling languidly in a public park, where the leafless, naked branches spread like the tentacles of octopus. Only that the branches were hard and rendered stiff by the winter cold; and they hung there with the shadow of morbidity, lamenting us for the unnecessary abnegation. The abnegation of our fight against global warming.

I looked at these branches, and the misty air that drifted from one end to another, there was nothing abominable about this park and the trees, but there was something grievous about the atmosphere in the park and the surrounding areas. And this feeling fostered abhorrence and right now I was dressed in this feeling. So, I decided to sit somewhere and relax for a while. I sat on a bench, under a canopy of several trees, and at this moment I neither thought of anything nor did I allow my mind to conjure up imaginary wanderings into this melancholic world of the park. Because it would be like becoming a part of sad tale, where the situational irony would make me a villain and a hero as well. Almost like cowardice riding the horse of gallantry. And a combination of this nature never leads anywhere, eventually, either the rider will lose balance or the horse would lose its sense of purpose and not move ahead.

I was dealing with these thoughts when a green leaf, floating in the air, was tossed into my left hand. Which I closed instantly, and when the winter wind had settled, I held the leaf in my hand and looked at it carefully. It fluttered there like a struggling kite caught in the branches, and the irrepressible wind made it look like the restlessness of the fast beating wings of the hummingbird. It had a blob like white silk attached to its lateral end of the stalk that had got glued to my palm, and when I opened it, the leaf forced by the gusts of the wind started beating against my palm, but the blob of sticky spider web that had got stuck to my palm, was not willing to surrender its allegiances to my palm . Finally the wind subsided, and the calm returned to the park, where now everything was painted in two colours, black and grey, and the third colour, the colour of life, green was in my hand.

Now every tree, every plant, every bush, every grass blade seemed to stare at the green leaf in my hand. And the most surprising of all, I too was now staring at it continuously. It was a leaf unlike any other that I had seen. And seeing this alien species in their midst, even the silent and still, residents of the park gazed at it. Eager to know, where it was from and what it was doing here? That too in the cold of December.

The park and its residents were as curious as I was, and we all wanted to know more about the leaf. The green leaf that fell from somewhere unknown and still green, but very small and thin. Thinner than the wings of butterfly and smaller than the wings of a Monarch butterfly. It was definitely not from this park at least.

So on behalf of the park, I reserved the right to ask the leaf few questions to know it better. To display my loyalty towards the park and its residents, I entered into a candid conversation with the leaf.

I: “Where are you from and what brings you here?”

Leaf: “I am from the future. To be exact, from the year 2075.”

I: “But what are you doing here?”

Leaf: “That is the exact purpose of my journey. I am here to warn you about your future and your carelessness today. That shall cost you dearly in the future. Your future generations will pay a heavy price for your mistakes.”

I: “What makes you say that?”

Leaf: “Look at me? Can’t you still make out? Ah that is disgusting!”

I: “Disgusting, really! And how am I responsible for you and your plight? We all could tell you are frail, vulnerable and destructible. But why are you blaming us? Should not you be blaming your people in 2075?”

Leaf: “My people. You are talking irresponsibly now. The people you are referring to as, “your people in 2075” are actually your children and grand children. Ah, your common sense surely lacks sense!”

At this point I was speechless, and the park along with all its residents shifted a bit, as if the tectonic plates changed the angle of the park to align it more with the leaf. And at this point I realised, and the leaf realised it too, that the park and its residents were now on his side, and I was the accused now. Cornered in the courtroom of nature. And my attorney was "my own conscience," and it knew it was guilty, and was already struggling to defend itself. So, I, who was just being used as a means to facilitate this conversation, displayed this nervousness and abjectness without any attempt to cover it, and I said,

“Yes, we have been careless and we are still not doing anything about saving our planet. I and my race, are guilty of this crime and our future generations shall suffer as a result of this complete negligence on our part.”

The leaf fluttered a bit with confidence and the winter branches of the trees shook with it. They had formed a united front and I stood no chance.

Leaf: “But you still can do a lot and redefine your destiny. Just do not be senile and please act proactively. You know what I mean. You even know how to do it. But you lack motivation and purpose. Once half of the world is under water, then you shall be motivated enough. But then it will be of no use, because damage would already have been done. So, you should act now and act fast, before you and your race meet a fate just like mine. I will miss you then, but trust me, the Universe will only say good riddance of this nuisance. That will be a shame for the crown of His creation! Don’t you think so?”

Silent like the wintry stillness and unable to think, I stood there. Like a stray dog that had entered the firing range and was busy, not dodging the bullets, but the echoing noise created by the gunshots, where I felt, I was inside a drum and everyone was hitting at it from both ends, as hard as he/she could. As soon as I was out of this vocal pandemonium I replied,

“Yes, that will be awful, and if we lose the opportunity that we have now, we may be writing the end of our own story. The story about humans on Earth and how it ended, forever. But there is nothing that I can do, unless all realise the need to act and act now with a profound sense of collaboration and responsibility, where we assume roles of true guardians of the planet Earth. However, these roles should be assigned based on several factors, and I believe that is what the real problem is, and is preventing us from acting in this direction with a sense of political and moral duty.”

Leaf: “ I too agree with you and that is why I have travelled from the future. Sometimes, you humans need to experience adversity and disasters, to experience your moment of awakening where you realise your true responsibilities and act accordingly. So, here I am from the future and now in your palm.

Show me, to them!

Then if they still do not act. Hold me tight, until I am crushed, then go to the spot where you caught me. There will be a gateway that shall open for you alone, and you shall be bound for a new world, where the thinking beings are more responsible, more sensitive and beautiful inside out, and you can live in that world forever.

As for your species. We have always sent messengers, prophets, but they have something in them that always makes their acts reproachful. We have tried our best to supplant this trait in your species, but this trait always manifests itself, in one way or another.

But we shall always give your species a chance, after all the thinking community of the universe is one, because eventually we belong to the same Universe, if not the same planet in the same Universe.”

After this there was silence, the naked winter branches, all the residents of the park, along with the park, joined the silence along with the wind that had entered into a state of absolute rest. And the stillness encased the leaf as well, as its fluttering stopped, and it did not move at all. Though it was still stuck to my palm with the blob of sticky spider web. I looked at it, and slowly closed my fingers and held it in my fist, like a tender butterfly that I was cautious not to harm at all. And the leaf realised it too and was now silent and still.

Maybe it will not be so, when I reveal it to you all, and I hope it will move you enough to act soon.

As the leaf is hibernating in the glass jar where I have placed it for the time being, I dedicated some of my time to writing a science fiction novel, titled: They Loved in 2075. It is not about the leaf, but it surely is about its fears, its existential crisis in 2075, and that of human emotions. Because in 2075, with the excessive use of self aware machines, it is possible that humans will fail to express emotions like love. Because their interaction with intelligent machines, will give rise to new emotions and new feelings, that will gradually, not kill, but dominate human ability to express true feelings and human emotions, to the extent, that they will get confused when it comes to distinguishing between native human emotions and synthetic human emotions.

It will be a crisis of new kind, it will be psychological and emotional crisis that humanity will be dealing with. And if synthetic emotions evolve enough and dominate human societies. Then I am sure, I will have no option left, but to crush the leaf and do as it instructed.

They Loved in 2075, is a science fiction novel, that actually is a romance science fiction, where the main character ( Saabir ) is dealing with highly intelligent machines, self aware networks, evolutionary problems, changing climate that is killing humans in millions every year, advanced wars fought by self aware systems; and in midst of all this he falls in love with a beautiful woman, and how he manages to stay human and love like a human, is the most refreshing part of this science fiction novel.

If by now, you have developed some sympathy towards the leaf, then you should find the science fiction novel, They Loved in 2075, very interesting and invigorating in many ways.

As you are reading this science fiction novel, there will be moments where you shall feel compelled to ask yourself, what you can do to make this planet a better place? At this point you may feel sad, because you will feel so small and helpless to initiate a change that demands so much from everyone of us. At that moment please remember, “Examinations are formidable even to the best prepared, for the greatest fool may ask more than the wisest man can answer!”

Allow your wisdom to guide you to your actual capacity, to your real power and your iron will, similar to that of the leaf. That took the trouble of travelling all the way from 2075 to 2023 to help us realise our actual purpose of life i.e. being the responsible and worthy caretakers of planet Earth!

Science fiction : Neural link

Science fiction : Neural link

A young girl, not more than 20 years old, looked at her own reflection on the water as she stood on the bridge of the water body that was neither a river nor a lake. It was a huge gorge, perhaps formed millions of years ago and it was fed by the river that flowed next to it. And there, under the clear blue sky she looked at her own reflection and wondered. About many things perhaps!

Then all of a  sudden she lifted her head and  as she turned left, she started walking towards the right end of the bridge. Leaving behind the gorge and the water trapped in it. Unable to find its way out because after taking a deep look at the gorge and its water, it was difficult to tell how the water from the river flowed or seeped into this gorge, and I am sure even the water trapped in the gorge was clueless about it.

But for now, my attention was neither the gorge nor the water held hostage by the rock solid confinements of the gorge, whose steadiness and foundational strength had been tested by time for more than a million years now. I was more interested in the young girl who had been staring at her own reflection. I was more interested in knowing who she is and how she got here. But from the look in her face I could tell that she was clueless about her own existence because when she looked at the reflection cast on the still water, she seemed to search for something in that reflection, as if it were her own identity that she had been seeking in this reflection. Her own face seemed to remind her of nothing and no one, but the frown on her forehead and the contours on her face confirmed one thing: she was seeking answers herself, and if my guess is not wrong, about her own self.

So, here I am following her in the gorge and I have been following her for 6 months now, when I first saw her in my town, where I had ventured out on one cloudy afternoon, and when it rained I ran to seek refuge under an oak tree. She was already there looking at the rain drops as they fell from the sky and hit the ground, producing hundreds of mini splashes that had stained her lower end of the trouser with black spots. And she was not bothered about these black stains, she was enjoying the raindrops and the wet view, where everything had transformed into a water kingdom like fantasy. As I settled on the opposite side of the tree trunk, she noticed my arrival from the squelching sound produced by my shoes as I sped past the wet and damp ground.

She was least interested in me, her only interest as of now was the rain, and under the century old oak tree I was the only one not interested in the rain drops. I was more interested in her, though it was my first visual contact with her, and I stood on the opposite side of the tree trunk, yet I felt attracted towards her. Being drawn towards her by the senses of curiosity bearing the feelings of admiration for someone who looked very much like a human being but there was something very different in her that told me she was more than a human being. Of course, I was not thinking of her to be an alien or a beautiful being from the kingdom of fairies. But the energy around the tree trunk was different and I wanted to know why it was so, and to know that, I felt compelled to know who she was.

So, I decided to cover the semi-circular distance to come face to face with her. I did so, but, when I reached there, she had disappeared. As I looked around, she had reached the main road and was walking hurriedly. And my desire to know her made me forsake the leafy umbrella of the grand oak tree and I began following her.

I must have followed her for 20 minutes, when she took a left turn, and entered a narrow, old, forsaken lane. She must have walked ten meters or so, she looked around, then lifted the lid of a manhole, and carefully got into it and closed the cast iron lid.

So, she definitely was not an alien, she was not a fairy from the kingdom of fairies, but I had a reason now to believe that she is someone from the underworld.

I reached the spot, looked at the cast iron lid, kept looking at it for a few minutes, then, unable to resist the need to follow her, I removed the lid and jumped into this underworld. But now I was not sure whether she went left or she went right. I was caught in this quandary when I saw a few bats flying towards me from the left side, so I proceeded in the left direction and hoped to see her somewhere. After wading through the underground drainage system, I reached at a corner where the drainage diverged like a fork, and between these diversions there were two delta like concrete formations, that rose like tables, and on these concrete tables, on one side lay some clothes, a few gadgets and on the other one, was the girl, who apparently was sleeping. So, I dared to go a bit closer, and as I reached very close where I could touch her with my fingertips, she jumped from the table and stood behind me and with some magnetic strap bound my hands, and pushed me aside.

Then after a moment she said, “I have been watching you for sometime now, and I led you here, do not think that you were following me, I was leading you here. So, now you should do what I ask you to do, otherwise, I may be forced to treat you very unpleasantly. You surely will not like it then. Please obey and you shall find answers to your questions. I will find answers to mine. You will have to help me!”

I was still astonished and unable to understand how it is possible that her reflexes are so strong that she instantly jumped, then stood behind me and even bound my hands. All this happened within a few seconds. It was like some super woman act that she executed with so much ease and precision.

“When you noticed me under the oak tree you realised that the black stains on my lower half of the trouser were getting automatically removed as soon as they were being formed. You also noticed that when I was looking at my own reflection on water, the water where my eyes were focused was moving in circular ripples, and when I turned left and opened the lid of the manhole, before you could realise what I was doing I had disappeared and the lid was closed. Well, it is not magic, it is my suit that is embedded with millions of sensors that are synthetically connected with my neurons, thus enhancing my capacity to think and act at incredibly high speeds. And with these sensors I can generate magnetic pulses and focus them on any target and do whatever I please. So you see, that is one part, the other and most important part being that I have stolen this sensor enriched suit from a scientist who lived in my neighbourhood. He is pursuing me and the state agencies are also seeking me. I need help to escape with this suit, I do not want to surrender it.

Here is a spare suit, I will let you wear it and use it, if you do exactly what I ask you to do. Think about it tonight, and I am sorry you will have to think with your hands tied.”

With this dossier she left me on one of the triangular, raised concrete formations and settled herself on another.

It must have been midnight, when I told her that I wanted to help her and I was willing to wear the suit. Then, she placed her index finger on my forehead and in a meditative state, said, “I can trust you. Here you go, wear it and let me know when you are ready. We will get started right away!”

I wore the suit and appeared in front of her, then she activated something and used some special combinations to make technical adjustments. When she was sure, she asked me to close my eyes and focus on the waves being formed. And as soon as I felt them I was supposed to lock my organic energy with these waves. I tried it for many hours but failed. It was my fourth day and I was still unable to lock my brain with this energy. And when I asked her how she did it, she replied without any astonishment, “According to the scientists my brain had the energy that could automatically sense these waves and with slightest effort I could lock my organic energy with these waves. But I did not know it would be so difficult for someone who does not have the neural wavelength to recognise these waves. But you should keep trying, because according to the scientists, people with lower energy field can also recognise and lock into this energy by training their minds. You said you could feel the extra field of energy created by this sensor-packed suit, so you definitely have crossed the major milestone, now you just need to train your brain to establish a link with these waves.”

I had no choice other than believing her. So, I kept trying and on the twentieth day of my captivity I managed to link my brain with this external energy field generated by this smart suit.

Then she trained me for a few months until she was sure I was able to use it well.

And it was part of the training at the gorge where she was teaching me how to cause ripples in water and use it by focusing and manipulating magnetic waves. Then if you remember, as she turned, I followed her, and now we are at the top of a rock and she is going to show me something that according to her even the scientist who developed the suit does not know- To become part of the surroundings.

She asks me to observe her keenly, and then, in the next moment she jumped into the water and never re-appeared on the surface. In the next moment, I heard the sound of choppers hovering around me in the mid air making this announcement, “You are surrounded from every side, surrender yourself and you shall not be harmed. If you try to run or escape, we shall shoot.”

For a moment I thought of jumping into the water too and perhaps become invisible, part of water and the gorge holding this water, or find an escape route, like she did Or whatever became of her, I am not sure. That is something only she knows, for me to know it, I just had one choice left, to jump into the water and experience it myself. And the other option was hovering over me in the mid air, where the state agencies along with the scientist were waiting for me to surrender. It was a tough decision. And I finally decided to follow her and experience the thrill called “unknown and never experienced before challenge!”

I looked at the choppers, smiled, and in a moment I hit the surface of the water with a splash, and the last thing I heard was the sound of the choppers and the scientist screaming, “Oh no! Now they can never be found. Never!”

It has been 5 years now, since that incident and my moment of courage, when I jumped into the water. But when I jumped, the girl was waiting for me to see what I would do. As soon as my body touched the surface of the water, she led me to a water channel, and through it we reached a part of the rock formations, unknown to humans, undetected by radars, there, only one form of energy existed, the energy of human feelings and love. And since then we've been together.

We visit towns, we visit the gorge too, but undetected, unseen, only visible to each other, because we have become part of the surroundings and they have become a part of us.

Now there is no need to run, because there is nothing to escape from. But now we are seeking something, something of our own will of our own choosing. We are learning to become a part of each other and live together in these surroundings that have accepted us as their own part, their integral part.

This is our short story, and the science fiction, They Loved in 2075, is a science fiction romance that tells a story of two lovers, who live in 2075 and want to feel love, just like humans did long ago. But they struggle to feel human like emotions or feelings, because their excessive interactions with self aware machines have killed their ability to feel and emote like humans. They are humans, but they feel like machines.

It would be right to say that the science fiction novel, They Loved in 2075, attempts to understand how humans will experience love in 2075. This science fiction novel navigates through the possibility of men and women falling in love with machines, without knowing they are robots imitating human emotions. Will you still dare to fall in love in 2075 or will you strive to tell the difference between a human lover and a robotic lover?

This Sci-fi novel tells the story of a man who falls in love with a real woman in 2075. And how he struggles to feel human and keep his emotional composition intact.

This Sci-fi story also aims at revealing why the man chose to love a real woman and not a never ageing and always beautiful woman with synthetic feelings. In 2075, this might be a choice we all will have to make. Especially our children!

Just like I chose to jump into the water. Sometimes, all it takes is the will to jump and dare to believe in what you feel is right. And in 2075, there will be a lot of things that may not be right, and there will be endless things that will be far better than now, but there will always be moments where we will have to dare to jump and not hope for the change, but be that change.

They loved in 2075, is a science fiction novel that envisages the need for this change. And it is good that a scifi novel is promoting good change, because sometimes change does not only come late, but it comes reluctantly. And that is why books referring to this much needed change in the future shall be regarded as messengers sent from the future. To help us create a better and safer future, for the future generations of humans on this planet.

Science fiction novels are special, and in this regard, They Loved in 2075 is very special, because reading a well written science fiction like this one is seeing the future by proxy.

Science fiction - Ideas

Science fiction - Ideas

There is fiction and there is science fiction. Although they have fiction in common, word, science is what makes all the difference. A fiction without science is as good as fantasy, but fiction with a strong blend of science and scientific logic is as good as reality, only that it takes a genius to see the possibility of believing in the proposed idea and make it tangible with the existing reality of science and scientific knowledge surrounding that topic.

I believe before the invention of wheel, if someone spoke of it and its uses, others might have thought of that person to be either eccentric or someone who likes to dwell too much in fiction, than in reality. But the fact is, wheel did somehow manage to move away from the shadowy existence in fiction to become an integral part of reality and revolutionise not just a sector or industry, but human life as whole.

I had a similar argument with a friend of mine couple of days ago and according to him, science fiction is nothing but someones imagination that dares to be too bold. Nothing else!

We had an elaborate discussion on this topic, and I felt a sincere need to express my protest because I do not believe science fiction is just about imagination that dares to be too bold. In reality, it is scientific imagination that is resting on logical parameters, only that in the reality to which we belong, there are either no means or insufficient means to test the credibility of the idea.

Take for example our struggle to understand the Dark Matter and Dark Energy, it is not palpable, it cannot be seen, it does not reflect light, it does not behave the way we know most of the particles to behave. So, does it mean it does not exist or it simply proves as of today ( in 2023 ) we do not have the resources and scientific knowledge to understand their behaviour, although, we are sure there is something that holds this universe together, apart from the gravity. Yet, there are many brave scientists who believe in the reality of the Dark Matter and Dark Energy, and that is why they have devoted their lives at CERN to understanding the nature of Dark Matter and Dark Energy.

With billions of dollars invested on this project, then one should say they have invested this money in fiction. But it is not so at all.

Now imagine thinking about a scientific marvel like CERN in 1925. Everyone, including few pessimists from scientific community would believe that this person is hysterical or he/she believes more in fiction than in reality.

And when I offered similar references to my friend, he did agree that many ideas proposed in science fiction, with right resources and advanced scientific knowledge, followed by perseverance, can be achieved in reality. But it took me a lot of time to convince him, although he is a highly educated person and he is not averse to reasoning. But when it comes to science fiction, many people enter into a mindset that it is all about fictitious ideas and wild scientific imagination that has to relation with reality. Which is not true, because before the Big Bang, even reality resided in the realm of fiction, because light did not exist and neither did time, it was a state of perpetual non existence. But with the Big Bang, reality emerged because time and light, along with forces like gravity and other forces made reality perceivable.

When it comes to few readers, who believe that science fiction is all about an overdose of imaginary science, a Big Bang at intellectual level, can make a huge difference, and dispel the clouds of doubt, that alienate them from the beautiful and scientifically verifiable aspect of some of the brilliant scientific ideas proposed in science fiction novels.

Take for example, the science fiction novel, They Loved in 2075, where the plot of the story revolves around two lovers struggling to express human like emotions in 2075. But it is not a scifi novel that is all about romance, it also discusses many bold scientific ideas that with right scientific knowledge can be reproduced in reality, only that sometimes, it takes a genius like Einstein or Newton to work on them with an obsession of two lovers. And then these fiction kissed ideas, begin to take shape in reality, while obeying every aspect of reality, whether scientific or other physical components of reality that must be satisfied for any scientific idea to be proven right.

And the science fiction novel, They Loved in 2075, talks of few wonderful scientific ideas, that may appear to be too futuristic, but then if we look at it, even future, every tomorrow is a fiction, because we have not seen them either. But we know future is real because tomorrow is real. Sometimes, believing in something or believing in someone is what makes that big difference.

Maybe that is the reason Agassi said, "Every great scientific truth goes through three stages. First, people say it conflicts with the Bible. Next they say it had been discovered before. Lastly, they say they always believed it."

And a science fiction writer and true science fiction reader, belongs to the believing category of men and women. Because they know, just like science is organised knowledge, the ideas proposed in scifi novels, are organised scientific thoughts and concepts. They just need a little bit re-adjustment in order to exist in reality and not just in fiction.

I am sure, just like my friend, you too would enjoy the brave ideas proposed in science fiction novel, They Loved in 2075!

To know how brave these ideas are, please feel free to explore the science fiction novel, They Loved in 2075.

Science fiction : Cast in the real time game

Science fiction : Cast in the real time game

Real, that is for a while, until a realisation sets in the mind based on patterns, that what you are doing is actually a sequence of actions preconceived by a real time game, where it wants to beat you always, in real life. Until the point, you do not accept defeat and cry, and cry while begging on your knees. Because the developers of the game believe human will is like a wild horse, that can be wrangled and broken. But they somehow forgot to consider one factor about human will. That it draws its strength from many factors which are abstract, the most important one being : Character!

Horses have personalities, and it can be changed. But humans have character, it is almost impossible to change.

And when you wrangle a man/woman with good and honest character, it is like entering into a combat with the conscience of the universe. Only a fool will challenge the conscience of the Universe. The other abstract factors include : Honesty, Faith, Respect (respecting women in particular ) , Love for fellow humans, Determination, Courage ( now courage comes in different forms. A murderer also needs courage, a lover needs a lot of courage and a humanity loving person needs tremendous amount of courage) Compassion, Little bit of, and a well balanced Ego, Lot of self respect and most important of all, Fear of death. But fear of death does not mean cowardice, not at all. It means, thinking before doing anything, and always choosing right over wrong, because you fear the conscience of the Universe that will punish you ultimately for your acts of malice.

But as the game advances and most of the subjects, who are being used for testing the live performance of the real time game against the real human beings, there are a very few, say 2, in million, who somehow recognise the pattern of the game, and realise that the life they are living is not real, it is actually a game based simulation that is testing its ability to think ahead of these humans and beat them at every step. Their thoughts, their imaginations, their dreams, their perceptions, even their body movements are artificially controlled, and this is where the game gets interesting and reaches a climax.

Where a human being is simply living his/her life and engaging in its chores, but the lunatic and dastardly maniacs, who have developed the game are treating these humans nothing more than an asset of the game, and manipulating real life scenarios based on the inputs of the game, to check its efficiency that depends on single objective: Beat these humans at every step, until they feel, worthless and weak.

Alas, evolutionary dispositions counteract the plot of real time strategy game, by offering special advantages to few human players.

This is a short sci fi about these humans where the game thinks and acts real time and tries to beat them at every step. But there is a twist in the game and that is what makes it interesting: In order to manipulate environments that these humans interact with, the game hires real men/women who always work for the developers of the game so that they can manipulate the situation that these humans are about to interact with in real life.

A sort of checkmate that always manages to beat them, because it knows their thoughts, and thoughts precede actions. So the game should always win. Which it does, but barring few exceptions, and this short science fiction is about these men and women of character.

And the developers of the game wish to achieve one objective: Play God who knows even the thoughts and wishes of these humans. But God’s algorithm is neutral; it is not based on the thoughts of a lunatic.

PLEASE NOTE: This short science fiction is based on following movies:

The Bourne Identity :

Where the main character’s every move is countered by agencies via satellite imagery and geo targeting of the protagonist

Kingsman :  The secret service

Where a self obsessed megalomaniac wants to control human thoughts.

Blade Runner :

Rick Deckard, an ex-policeman, becomes a special agent with a mission to exterminate a group of violent androids. As he starts getting deeper into his mission, he questions his own identity.

This short scifi also draws inspiration from the word megalomaniac that means : A person obsessed with power and wealth, and a passion for grand schemes.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Megalomania

It also seeks inspiration from : Mega-Lo-Mania, a 1991 real-time strategy game by Sensible Software.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mega-Lo-Mania

The real time simulation begins, in a small and old restaurant in downtown, where four friends are having lunch, and one of the friends drops his glass of water, and his girl friend sitting beside him, helps him with her glass of water. The boy named Tact, accepts it and resumes concentrating on his lunch.

After the lunch, all of them leave the restaurant and head to their respective homes/rooms. And Tact, on reaching his room, removes his still wet shirt and places it in a basket, and gets ready to take some rest, a sort of siesta. He wakes up after an hour, and thinks about the incident where he dropped the glass of water. He senses something very strange about this incident and tries to recall every moment that preceded the moment when he dropped his glass. He recognises something that is perplexing and proves the hegemony of an unknown force trying to manage his actions. He thinks about the glass for long, almost 4 hours. Finally he arrives at a conclusion, and he wants to test in real life to prove its authenticity.

As of now he does not know he is a part of the game that manipulates situations in real time and knows his every thought, even combs his memories and stacks them as it pleases. Which means, whatever Tact realised from the incident where he dropped the glass, the real time strategy game, already knows about his thoughts and through his thoughts about his every next move.

Although by design and concept it is meant to be a game, in actuality it is a one sided game, where a heavyweight professional boxer ( Is the real time strategy game ) is in the boxing ring seeking moments of pride from boxing matches with a kid who is only 10 years old.

Now, either the heavyweight boxer is addicted to seeking self assurance about being the best by organising boxing matches with a kid who is 10 years old, or it is natural evolution trying to prove that it will one day manage to outsmart every move of the real time strategy game, by developing something called, parallel thoughts.

In the evening, Tact plans to meet his girlfriend. He is dealing with this thought, when he looks at a red covered, paperback book that belongs to his girlfriend. He had borrowed it a couple of weeks ago.

He sees the book, but as of now there is no thought associated with the book, except its visual recognition by his mind. Anyhow he gets ready, and his girlfriend agrees to meet him at the rendezvous point exactly at 05:30 pm.

He locks his room and takes the stairs to reach the ground floor. As he exits the gate, he turns left to get to the main road, but then for whatever reason, he decides to turn right instead, to reach the main road where he can easily find a cab.

He is now on the main road, waiting for a cab. It is already 04:30 pm. He waits there for almost 30 minutes but he is unable to spot even a single cab. His girlfriend calls to ask him about his location.

Tact replies, “ I am waiting for the cab, but I am unable to find any. Usually there are many cabs plying on this road, but right now they all appear to have vanished. I will walk, so I may be late by a few minutes, I hope that is ok?”

His girlfriend immediately answers, “Oh darling, yes that will be fine. I will wait for you at the agreed spot!”

( At this point Tact doesn't know that the real time strategy game has already checkmated him. It manipulated his thought and without allowing him to realise this, it forced him to take right . And via smart networks ( smartphone based location, sat cameras, online traffic management, smart apps etc. ) it then caused traffic jams at certain points that blocked all entry points of cabs bound to the road where he was standing. Not only that, it routed online cab booking requests to cab drivers, who were heading in his direction. And blocked every cab that otherwise, he could board and reach his destination. It is manipulation at an advanced level.)

At this stage Tact is unaware of it. But the dropping of the glass incident, has made him skeptical, and as he is walking to meet his girlfriend, he enquires from few shop owners whether there was something unusual about not finding a cab at this hour. And almost 98% of them say, yes, it is unusual.

And now, Tact feels something is not correct. But he still wants to be sure. And only time shall tell, if he at all can. Because the real time strategy game can even read his thoughts. And he is unaware of it at this stage.

Finally, after having walked for almost an hour, he meets his girlfriend who had been waiting for him. They both hug each other and Tact holds her in his embrace for longer than usual. Then as he removes his arms, his girlfriend looks at him and asks him if everything is fine.

He looks at her eyes, her deep eyes, where he often likes to wander and forget all his worries. Then after a few minutes, he assures her everything is fine.

Then they reach the same, old downtown restaurant and order some hot chocolate. Moon ( his girlfriend ) holds his hand, and asks him about the book and if he found it interesting.

Tact smiles and answers, “yes I liked it and I am still reading it.”

As he said this, the visual interaction with the red covered paperback book, as if by some external stimuli, appears in his memory and makes him feel he has already had this conversation with her in the past. The real time strategy game is actually manipulating his photographic memory, and rearranging his perception of sequences, to create a false impression of a reality that never existed. But he realises this and it will change everything!

( Somewhat like the movie Blade Runner )

At this point, he asks Moon if they could go out and take a walk. Now, Moon is sure something is not right with Tact. So, she accepts his offer without any protest and she holds his hand, and both start walking under the evening streetlights. Unable to restrain herself, Moon asks Tact to share with her whatever was worrying him.

Tact, looks at her, stops walking, holds her closer to his chest, and places his chin over her head. And says, “yes there is something I want to tell you, but before I do, please watch these movies : Blade Runner, Kingsman, The Bourne Identity, and try to know whatever you can about real time strategy games. Then I can explain things better and they would seem plausible. And I am glad you had physics as your major subject and you believe more in science and scientific probing. And you are not someone who is too obsessed with black magic, superstition and illogical beliefs. Will you do that for me, Moon?”

She looks at him and replies, “ I think I have watched all of them, and I know quite a lot about real time strategy games. It tries to beat the real time gamers by conceiving a strategy in real time that is far advanced than the moves of real time gamers. But I will watch them again. I too have wanted to tell you something for a long time now. I am glad you mentioned it. Today something very strange happened. Tact, I have been feeling this for quite sometime now, but I did not know how to share it with you.

Do you know something Tact? I wanted to walk today, and that is why I left early, then a cab stood right in front of me and asked me if I was going downtown. While I was wondering how the driver knew I was going downtown, I boarded the cab. After a few minutes I realised I wanted to walk and not take the cab today. Yet I boarded the cab Tact. I was worried for a while. It was at this moment I thought of Newton and his laws and the recently published paper on electromagnetic waves of the human brain. Rest let us discuss whenever you want to. And as you mentioned, after I have watched these movies and read more about real time strategy games.”

Tact, agrees and then they walk towards Moon’s home. Tact waits at the gate until her mother opens the door and she waves her hand at him, and both her mother and she wish him good night.

“Good night!” Shouts Tact loudly.

Tact, saunters on the pavement, sometimes walking slowly and thoughtfully, at times jumping from the circular glow of the street lamps cast on the floor of the pavement, into the next glow of the next street lamp waiting to bathe him in its light and make him feel a little happier.

Finally after hopping from one glow to another, he reaches the road, where he had waited for the cab, and he decides to wait and observe the flow of cabs for a few minutes.

And, what he notices surprises him. After every every 30 seconds, a cab passes by him. And in 10 minutes almost 16 cabs go past him. This convinces him more about the credibility of his theory. But he wants to test it further, because he wants to be sure that he is thinking in the right direction and not ignoring or missing the details that matter.

He opens the lock of his room and without opening his shoes he almost dives into his bed and lies there with his face facing the ceiling. He closes his eyes and falls asleep. But in his subconscious mind he is dealing with all these thoughts and pushing himself to arrive at a sensible solution.

Yes, a much needed sensible solution, and not any other solution. And there he sleeps in his bed, with eyes closed, but awake and dealing with thoughts that want to be the pirates of his memories, his emotions, his life, his will, his choices, his imaginations, and in advanced stages, even distance him from his girlfriend by creating an emotional gulf between them. But somehow, he always manages to love her, because he knows she loves him equally as much, and this memory is irreplaceable and imperishable. This is a struggle in his subconscious state , and when he wakes up next morning, hopefully, he will realise it is actually a fight he ought to win in reality. And figure out a way to do so.

And its seed has already germinated in his mind and hopefully it will lead him to this realisation. Hopefully it will!

Finally, the Sun peers through the laced Summer curtains, and beams of light cover Tact’s face. He stands at the edge of the bed, then walks towards the window and looks at the bright sunshine and the people walking on the streets.

He boils some water and prepares his morning tea, with a few loaves of bread and honey. Just to feel a little well off, he also boils a few potatoes, and tosses some spinach and carrots on top of these boiled potatoes, and leaves them to cook for a few minutes.

Then he starts his computer and runs a few calculations.

“There it is!” Is his instant reaction after having run the calculations for more than 2 hours. Now he is convinced that the glass did not fall, it was made to fall, he did not turn right, he was made to turn right, the red covered, paperback book did not occupy his thoughts while he was conversing with his girlfriend, but he was made to think of it.

But how did he realise it?

Well that is his secret, because somehow he has sensed that his thoughts are being logged and then situations are manipulated in real time to first confuse him, and in advanced stages make him so weak that he lacks confidence even to take the next step. A state where he will be so dependent on few people that he even will not have the will to lift a glass of water, because he will be scared that it might fall. A pathetic physical state where he is just a reflection and nothing else. A mere reflection, whose situations are taken to such extreme that he agrees to be a situationally born prostitute with no self respect. And this begins to worry him and pity the minds of people who  have developed this real time strategy game with a malicious intention to turn humans into beggars and these helpless, situationally forced prostitutes whose self respect is squeezed out of them at such a slow rate, that they do not realise it until they are trapped in its sodomising influence. Where every prostitute who once was a girl/boy with dreams to fly a jet plane or be a doctor, is now a victim of these intentionally manipulated situations, and whenever a customer undresses him/her, the pilot in him/her dies, the doctor dies too, and finally one day he/she dies as well and now he/she becomes a shadow that does not need any light to be cast.

And no matter how often he/she is undressed every day, he/she feels nothing. Because the system, called the real time strategy game, has robbed him/her of one very crucial aspect of human life, “Self Respect!” And with this loss the wild horse in him/her, assumes the form of a horse with personality, but no character, and in this moment, the person is assassinated and now he/she doesn't mind being undressed at all, because he/she feels naked all the time.

Ravaged by the savages, who are accomplices of Satan, in Saints clothing. And this thought worries Tact, and he continuously thinks about Moon and hopes she too is not a victim of these savages.

While Tact is preoccupied with these thoughts, he hears the doorbell, and this breaks his thinking spell. He gets up, and opens the door.

“Ah Tact, I could not wait to see you. I was thinking of you all night.” Says Moon as she holds him in her arms and drags him towards the table and closes the door behind her, by literally kicking it with her right foot.

She kisses him and then holds him in his arms and then stays still for a few minutes, until Tact asks her something, “how about some tea and spinach soup with a lot of garlic and carrots?”

“Ah that will be great!” Answers Moon.

Tact kisses her on her forehead and walks towards his kitchen, which is actually a wooden partition separating his bed from the rest of the room- Technically one big room, that is half bedroom, a quarter of the room is kitchen and a quarter part of the room is a bathroom with toilet. And Tact believes only a just emerged butterfly from her cocoon and his girlfriend, Moon, can understand the design, and living in such a room; and still being able to be yourself.

Moon watches him bringing the soup and tea, and as he places them on the table, with a cup of tea for himself too. Moon holds his finger, that was trying to free itself from the round keychain like grip of his cup, and kisses his hand, and then grabs her bowl of soup and begins taking sips of soup with a spoon.

It is not a typical soup spoon, but a teaspoon. And with this spoon it will take her, almost 25 minutes to finish her soup. But she loves it this way, because lovers love spending time together, and any reason that facilitates these desires, is a welcome reason. And in the romance between Tact and Moon, this tea spoon always appears to be this good and beautiful reason. Tact does this on purpose too because he loves spending time with her, and the tea spoon offers this opportunity. And by now Tact has realised that Moon too does not mind it either. So it will be right to say that in their case, love is not in the air, love is in the tea spoon and the soup!

Then, unexpectedly, Moon places her soup bowl on the table, and asks Tact to pull his chair closer to hers. Tact gets up and pushes the chair towards his left with his right hand, and then comfortably re-occupies the chair, beside Moon. So close that he could hear her breathing.

And Moon asks him to listen carefully,

“Yesterday when I was about to go to bed, Aramax and his girlfriend called me saying they will be leaving for a mountain tour. Whereas, the day we had lunch together, they told me they were here for more than two months and they could not think of taking a break, because they had several deadlines to work on. And when they were on the phone their voices were delayed, as if they were thinking twice about one thought and then speaking. Sort of dual thinking, which causes  a noticeable delay in word delivering frequency. I did not say anything and I wished them all the best.

But when I asked you about the red covered, paperback book yesterday, I had decided before leaving my home that I would not talk about it, because I knew you would take more than a month to absorb the content of that book. But when I met you, this was the first thing I referred to. It was as if someone prodded my thoughts in this direction and via the centre of the brain that controls motor movements it forced me to say what I had decided not to refer to. During the time when I was with you, I did not realize it, but when I reached home, I realised it when I sat in my chair. It was then I thought, perhaps my memory is being managed by someone. And I know exactly how Tact.”

Tact, who is still holding the tea cup in his right hand, looks at her and responds, “Well Moon. Now there is nothing I should explain further, I am sure we are victims of the same system and I have every reason to believe we are being used to grow the artificial intelligence of real time strategy game. That knows human thoughts in advance, and then based on previous experiences and access to human memory. Via permutation combination, it lays out the game plan to checkmate the real players i.e. you and me in this case. Given the fact that it knows our thoughts, and it has a complete record of our previous experiences and access to our memories, it will always know what we will do in situation A and in situation B. And to check its accuracy, it will sometimes block all our possibilities, to look for other alternatives that a human mind can think of in a real time scenario, and sometimes serve us with the options easily, again to test that it is correct about our personality assessments. Then as it evolves, it will become a tactical and thinking synthetic brain, that can be used to make anyone's life hell.

( If in right hands, better as well. But as of now, it is hell for sure! )

For example, I like helping people. But of late I have been coming across too many beggars. Too many. It is as if the system wants to know, which faces and appearances appeal to me the most when it comes to expressing sympathy. It also knows a lot of other details by engaging us in these real time situations, which are simulations of a game that is learning and getting intelligent. So, I have stopped helping people, because they appear to be a part of the game. Hired by its developers to map every mental expression of the target subjects.

At this point, Moon interrupts him, “You know, this Summer, I went to market when it was as hot as 47 degrees. I usually do not feel thirsty when I am out. But one day I felt extremely thirsty but my thirst was not for water. Instead it was focused on something in particular. As if the system had learned to trigger these urges in me and then, when it knew I am at the spot where this drink is available, it triggered this thirst and I craved it. I gave in to these urges couple of times, but then I realized something is not right. And this moment of realisation was very special, don't ask me how I realised it. That will be our secret. Right Moon! At least for now that has to be our secret, remember the movies: The Bourne Identity and Blade Runner.”

“Yes I do sweetheart!”  Replied Moon.

“There are a lot of other incidents that helped me realise it. So the technology no doubt is amazing. But it has a major flaw. And when a person realises it, if that person under natural circumstances would buy that drink, say 7 times in a month, after this realisation, this person would never drink it. Because he/she feels cheated and baited. But I am sure there are many who never realise it. And by never I mean never.

So Moon, let me kiss you please, before the game knows I want to kiss you.” Requests Tact.

“Please do. I do not care whether the game knows it or not. We cannot live in fear and stop doing what we like. Thinking, whether it is a liking induced by the game or it is our own desire. Something that we want to do, because we love it. So kiss me Tact!”

And he pushes the bowl aside and holds Moon in his arms and they do what they felt like doing. Now, whether this was a desire injected by the real time strategy game or their own desire. Remains a secret that only Tact knows as of today, and even the real time strategy game is unaware of it. Because Tact has learned something amazing and revolutionary when it comes to the thinking processes of the human brain.

For now, as he is kissing Moon, he feels he is the luckiest person in the world, and at this moment nothing else matters. As for the realisation and how his brain sensed it when the glass fell, is a secret he knows better than anybody, even the creators of the real time strategy game.

And he feels, this technology can have many useful applications in medical science. But, will a megalomaniac human being, be able to overcome his/her temptations and be willing to become a philanthropist who wants to rescue humanity, rescue love and lovers alike? Because this technology can make a person very, very powerful, almost like God or should I say: like Satan!

Afterall, justice without power is inefficient; power without justice is tyranny. Justice without power is opposed, because there are always wicked men/women. Power without justice is soon questioned. Justice and power must therefore be brought together, so that whatever is just may be powerful, and whatever is powerful may be just.

He smiles and then holds the bowl of soup in his right hand, and offers the tea spoon to Moon with his left hand. And as she holds the tea spoon, Tact smiles again, as she begins to savour her sips, of now, almost cold soup.

Then, as they are busy talking and figuring out a way to free themselves from this neural lock established by mapping the frequency of brian’s wavelength. Moon says something extremely fascinating, “Tact have you noticed that in old scriptures, mythology and history, most of the powerful men and women have worn gold crowns. And gold is one of the fastest and best conductors known to humans. I think it has the capacity to either enhance the reception of this thought probing frequency or alter it so that it cannot be tapped into. And if you observe the life of King Solomon, and the handling of the Arc of covenant, there are clues that could help us resolve this. I know, I know, you are not too religious, but you are still pious. Haa haaa, that is why I consider you to be my better half already!”

At this point, Tact looks at her and scratches his head and acknowledges the potential of her idea to help them come out of the situation they are in.

But at this point, Tact makes a sudden confession as well, “But Moon, at times it seems to work to our advantage, there are moments I have felt it. As long as it does not manipulate the situations and is granted as a gift to a person who knows how to handle power for just causes only, it should be a great power that they ought to accept readily. So let us wait and see how it evolves and where it leads to. In the meantime we can also work on our options too!”

Moon, who is a person with a strong sense of forethought, asks him to discontinue being a prey to synthetically generated situations, which will never end, and it will force him to live in a world that is unreal, making him feel it is real.

Whereas it is not, and for the real time strategy game this will be the ultimate victory and for humanity, it will only mean one thing, “game over!”

“Now do you want that? And don't you want me to love you in real time without having to ask yourself whether it is based on our own desire, our own free will; or it is a urge that germinates within us because real time strategy game is still using us as subjects whose existence is nothing more than the components of the game?”

Tact, thinks for a moment and agrees with her, and they begin working on the solution.

Moon realises that via their thoughts the real time strategy game now knows what they are upto. So she expects and prepares herself for the worst. Tact realises this and holds her hand, and then leads her to his bike. He puts on his helmet, and as Moon holds his shoulders as a confident pillion rider, they dash towards the main highway; and the real time strategy game chases them via its smart networks of auto  piloted cars, and AI managed lanes and traffic signals, and they keep speeding ahead while the real time strategy game keeps creating a new maze with every new mile covered by them.

It has been almost 5 years now, and both of them are still on the highway because the real time strategy game has blocked all the lanes and gullies that lead to their homes and to Tact’s room. So for now Moon and Tact are like Neo from the famous movie, The Matrix.

Matrix did end in the concluding scene, but in real time strategy game where people have sold their souls in return of few pleasures and some money, for the two lovers, the game continues endlessly, but they do not mind being tried to their maximum limit as long as they are together on the bike, that exists in reality. Where Moon and Tact are the actual reality. And Moon’s hands on Tacts shoulders, offer him a feeling of contentment no money can buy.

The real time strategy game is seeking them to know how Tact realised it. How!?

But, Tact and Moon are love bound travellers who do not travel on the waves of time, they travel beyond the realm of time, where only they exist along with the real time strategy game.

Maybe this is the power of love. Human love! And the real time strategy game will never understand this, because its developers are loveless and cold.

For true love always safeguards and protects honour. And love is all about faith, just like the maid that loves, goes out to sea upon a shattered plank, and puts her trust in miracles for safety. And for now, both, Tact and Moon, are in the most tempestuous sea having placed their trust in a plank and believing in the miracles of safety.

The fictitious situation explained in this short science fiction may be a reality in 2075. And to know more about it and love in 2075, I wrote the science fiction novel, They Loved in 2075. Explore it to know if Moon and Tact manage to survive the moves of the real time strategy game eventually; or they end up being trapped forever in its infinite maze of new turns and twists.

In the science fiction novel, They Loved in 2075, the names of characters are different, the plot of the story is different, but the struggle of human emotions and feeling of love is far more intense. And there are a few technological wonders that have been explained in great detail!

Explore the science fiction novel, They Loved in 2075, and know where the bike eventually stops and how Moon and Tact manage to escape from the real time strategy game. A scifi romance, that will enliven the romantic within you. And I guarantee you too shall believe that romance has been elegantly defined as the offspring of fiction and love.

Let me know if you too believe in this kind of romance and if you too felt like praying for Moon and Tact riding their bike of hope and true courage.

Until then, let me join them in the maze. Whroom, whroom, whroommmmmmm!
