Chandrayaan 3 Landing on The Moon
They say, “The difference between failure and success is doing a thing nearly right and doing it exactly right!”
And on August 23rd, 2023, at 5:45 pm Indian Standard Time, ISRO ( Indian Space Research Organisation ) redefined exactness, by landing Chandrayaan 3, on the south pole of the Lunar surface.
It was a moment of great pride for India, but for the world it was a moment of great celebration. Because finally humans are learning to live as one community. Where the mission is to explore new frontiers of science and explore the Universe with renewed passion. With just one quest, the quest to establish human civilisations across the farthest reaches of the Universe and become a species that in true sense is intergalactic.
Today while Chandrayaan 3 was descending on the lunar surface, and it entered a phase where its antennae could not communicate with ISRO, NASA and ESA ( European Space Agency ) had shouldered the responsibility to relay the data during this phase to ISRO, and keep them updated until the antennae started relaying data back to ISRO. Although ISRO paid for the services, the global community of scientists proved that humans can work together as a single species and achieve great scientific feats. Where service remuneration is not the motivation, but it is the curiosity to understand the mind of the universe that is the actual driving force.
For me, Chandrayaan 3 shall always epitomise three facts:
1- It redefined exactness
2- It proved humans can work together and achieve greatness that does not belong to one, but to all
3- India proved that it is a nation where women are revered as Goddesses and they can achieve their dreams. ( The Associate director of Chandrayaan 3 was a female and many of the scientists involved in the Chandrayaan 3 mission were females. )
Today India landed on Chandrayaan 3, but tonight India shall not sleep because we shall be busy celebrating this great scientific achievement and preparing for the true and authentic “Moon Walk!” The next level of celebration with a new curiosity to deal with!
Because curiosity is one of the permanent and certain characteristics of a vigorous intellect. Every advance into knowledge opens new prospects and produces new incitements to further progress. With that said, let scientific curiosity never end and may we venture far and beyond the known dimensions of the universe waiting to reveal new secrets.
Today I will keep it short, because I am excited. And in excitement, words say the least, it is feelings and emotions that tell the real story.
So welcome to the party, where, at least tonight, the stage is the Universe!
You will experience a similar excitement in my science fiction novel, They Loved in 2075. A science fiction romance, where human emotions and science come face to face. To know how human emotions have evolved in 2075, explore the science fiction novel, They Loved in 2075.
