Science fiction. The attacking frigate

Science fiction. The attacking frigate

It was lovely, it was there, it was with them, and they were with it, and that is how they had always wanted it to be!

In the world of NeuroPro, rejoicement had possessed every corner, because they had finally received the boon from the Gods. It was their belief that this would end their anguish; and slay the Devil’s Frigate that was responsible for causing mayhem among the NeuroPro community.

The NeuroPro community had long been troubled by the Devil’s Frigate that always ambushed them when they least expected it. And the NeuroPro had always tried to find some means to contain their desire to expand into the territory that was controlled and owned by the NeuroPro tribe.

And this boon, that they had managed to get from the Gods after impressing them with their devotion and sincerity. Was their only means to accomplish this goal. With the frequency of sudden attacks from the Devil’s Frigate having increased substantially, they felt it was time to use it.

But there was a problem!

They were unable to use it. The tribe members who had received it from the Gods, in their excitement had forgotten to ask them about the best way, and most likely the only way to operate it.

This time they wanted to use it before the Devil’s Frigate surprised them with another surprise attack.

It was then they thought of one of their estranged strategic advisors who had gotten into a heated debate with the seniors of the NeuroPro community.  The contentious debate had led the strategic advisor to proclaim in public square that the planet will be invaded by the Devil’s Frigate. And the senior members of the NeuroPro community were doing nothing about it, and simply relying on securing the boon from Gods. which at that time had not been gifted to the members of the tribe.

The estranged strategic advisor believed that his community had adopted a relaxed approach to evolving their advanced and stealth mode based arsenal that they had been using to defend their planet from the advances made by the Devil’s Frigate from ancient times.

As a result of this heated debate, the strategic advisor had left the planet and flown to a planet that was placed at the edges of their galaxy. Anyone who was exiled or sentenced to serve in penal colonies set up on this planet, lived at the mercy of his/her fate and survived at the mercy of the planet’s mood.

And the estranged strategic advisor lived there along with inmates serving their terms.

No sane person would choose to live on this planet, because it forced its residents to lead banal lives with a lifelong precariousness that made their minds restless and uneasy. Not that this planet was dominated by beasts and monsters, but due to one fact: This planet experienced slight shifts in its orbital movements because it wobbled after every 2 years in the month of December when 4 celestial bodies in the solar system tried to pull it towards them. As the largest celestial body dragged it, the other three managed to free it when their gravitational forces merged at one point. And when it would seem that they would succeed in uprooting it completely from its orbit. The largest celestial body once again exerted its gravitational force, enough to not pull it towards itself, but free it from the combined gravitational force of the three celestial bodies, and cast it back into its orbit.

Whenever this event took place, the planet experienced destruction at an unprecedented scale. And that was the reason that the convicts serving their sentences on this planet could never achieve any sort of stability. Because it was the planet where only one thing was certain. Uncertainty!

There was no guarantee that after two years they would still be alive. So they never bothered to invest time in developing the place and making it feel less hostile and more homely. Because if they did, the next wobbling event would destroy everything without being selective.

So, the NeuroPro members had every reason to believe that he strategic advisor may have died by now, because on this planet the chances of survival for any convict are 20%. And on this unpredictable planet there were no exceptions to this rule. However, they still felt it would be appropriate to dispatch a spaceship along with a few of their senior members. And assign them the task to locate him if he is alive and then bring him back to the NeuroPro planet.

And for that, he had to be alive. But on this rogue planet the maximum age was 10 to 15 years maximum. Still, they wanted to believe he was luckier than the rest.

Because he is their only chance, their only hope to save them from the Devil’s Frigate.

Finally they decide to send their crew on the following day, in the afternoon.

The night passes without any attack from the Devil’s Frigate, and in the afternoon the crew get ready to land on the planet where the once strategic advisor is serving his penal sentence.

In nearly 5 hours they land on the planet and they receive instructions to proceed with caution and with urgency, because the cosmic event that causes the drift in the planet’s orbital movement is due in 2 days. So, they adopt a war-like mode and launch all aerial probes to identify the chief strategic advisor’s  location; and then explain the situation to him. That is if he is still alive.

They spend the entire night scanning the habitable zones of the planet, and they are not able to find him anywhere. They also ask other residents about his whereabouts, but nobody appears to know him.

For them a simple mission of finding and securing a person, turns out to be a mission where they are chasing a ghost. They spend the next day in aerial surveillance but they are met with complete disappointment, and their despondency begins to bother them.

As the evening set in, one of the crew members launched aerial probes to examine the unoccupied zones of the planet. Especially the desert area covered in sand dunes and ruled by extreme desolation.

Finally after 3 hours one of their aerial probes sends a message of hope:

Begin Message Relay:

Activity observed. Couple of structures identified in the middle of the desert. Sending terrestrial probes to examine further.

Manual and human intervention sought.

Awaiting further instruction.

Terminate Message Relay.

The crew immediately board the spaceship and fly to the location. There they see a small dome like building, with retractable, hexagonal blocks. As they get closer to the structure, they witness a sand storm rising from the spot and after a few minutes the dome-like structure vanishes under the sand.

Without making any guess, they all believe it is an artificial sand storm generated by him. Because only he could develop something like this.

But one of the crew members insists on sending a mini probe designed like a sand beetle. It can penetrate any depth of sand dunes. And via this sand beetle they wish to convey their message to him.

After waiting for 45 minutes they see the following message on their hand held communication devices:

I'll see you in 15 minutes. Stay where you are, and do not move!

After 15 minutes the strategic advisor appears in front of them and asks them to give him one reason why he should accompany them.

At this question they all seemed confused and all of them struggled to come up with an answer, because every crew member believed that the senior community of the NeuroPro tribe had been unjust to him and he deserved much more. If nothing, respect and recognition for sure!

Instead he was dumped on this planet where he was left to deal with his fate and the atrocities of the brutal forces that rule on this planet.

And the proof of his innovation was best represented by the dome that he had erected in the middle of the desert. And he had chosen the desert on purpose.

Because when the planet experiences drift in its orbital movements the planet shakes and wobbles erratically. And when that happens, things begin to tumble over one another, water bodies experience tsunamis; but, sand shifts like pearls in a huge football field. Sometimes the pearls shift left, at times right, creating huge sand mountains that keep shifting, and finally settle at one location assuming a form that will not change much until the next event rocks the planet again.

He had been able to measure the latitudinal and longitudinal tilt experienced by the wobbling planet. And based on it, he could easily tell in which direction the sand desert would drift. And his retractable dome moved like a super strong football on the sand, and when covered in sand, it got compressed. But he had been able to calculate the extreme points of pressure exerted by the largest sand dunes during the event, and by increasing the density of hexagonal and retractable blocks, his dome was able to sustain any pressure, as long as it did not exceed the maximum pressure point determined by him based on his calculations.

When the dome got buried under sand, it rattled like the tail of a rattlesnake until it resurfaced.

He definitely was someone who did not think it necessary to be better than nature. Because he believed only fools to do that.

According to him, nothing can be better than nature, because the people of the sand deserts believe nature is perfect like the creator of the Universe. Because the creator of the universe is supreme when it comes to perfection.

His old and still intact designs on the NeuroPro planet reflected this philosophy. Just like his dome. Where he maintained luxury and convenience; but cancelled extravagance and decadence. Because according to his philosophy it kills infrastructural robustness and aesthetics.

His philosophy:  Buildings and human made structures should not challenge nature. They should be able to blend with the ecosystem and be accepted by the surroundings. Only that is the perfect design. He calls it beauty that flows like a cool summer breeze and fills all senses with a calm feeling of divine-like beauty.

So, the crew was already impressed with him. And they somehow persuaded him to at least join them and visit the NeuroPro planet once.

As they were expecting him to board the spaceship. He takes a look at each one of them and tries to find genuine concern in their eyes. Which he does!

And he asks them to wait. He presses a button on his dome and it begins to rattle. Then it appears as a complete dome-like structure on the surface of the sand.

He activates something by pressing another button, and addresses the crew,

“Tomorrow the planet will experience the wobbling drift again. I do not want to return to a desert, homeless and clueless about my dome. Now, when I return, if it is buried under sand, it will auto rattle, once its smart sensors and historical data based application determines that it is the last wobble that the planet has experienced. Only then the dome will auto rattle. Well you got to be careful when you live in the desert.”

Then all of them fly to the NeuroPro planet. Where they are greeted by the elite community members. And without wasting anytime he begins examining the Frigate related data.

And he surprises them all with his simple answer.

“ There is no need to use the boon offered to you by the Gods. It should be used in extreme cases. Because it has the potential to exterminate civilisations and all their creations.

Well, since you are surrounded by water on three sides, you should launch sonar based pulses which spread like a ring of protons and neutrons. That gets activated when the Frigate is in the range and can target your old and ageing ships via torpedoes and underwater missiles. But when they hit this ring of protons and neutrons they will self detonate. Expensive technology but works with 100% security.

Now what about the attack that their ships can launch aerially? I believe we are still stuck in conventionalities and primitive tactics.

Given below is the arrangement of alphabets on a keyboard:

QWERTYUIOP

ASDFGHJKL

ZXCVBNM

Imagine a laptop, where the keyboard has keys dedicated to every character. Now, if the target character of the enemy is letter G, and the missile is approaching from letter P.

You have the following options to intercept P as it is on its course to hit G.

O,I,U,Y and T

K,J,H

M,N, B

So, by evaluating its speed, you can either hit it with O or K. Easily.

Now suppose, they fire from all directions:

Same target : G

Being attacked from and by:

T, B

H, F

R, C

J,D

In this case the rule of highest proximity applies when it comes to targeting G

T,F,B,H

Form the first ring of proximity with G

R,D,C,J

Form the second ring of proximity with G

Since your retaliatory system is based on proximity principle that works like a keyboard, the characters represented in these two proximity circles can be countered by characters that are nearest to them and not necessarily to G.

First ring of proximity with G i.e. T,F,B,H

Can be countered as follows:

T can be countered by R and Y

F can be countered by V

B can be countered by N

H can be countered by N and U

It should be sufficient to protect you from the attacks launched by the Frigate.

You can improve it further by adding extra security layers to it. Where in your defence system, every character should be surrounded by a complete set of characters present on the keyboard dedicated to it only. Based on maximum probabilities of proximity and range . It will be expensive but it will be impenetrable.

If I recall well, I was working on this system when we had the debate and you expelled me. That system is 80% ready. Work on the 20% and you shall be good to go!

Please never use it unless you are provoked and left with no other resort. Because when human life is lost, the universe loses a sensation, and when millions die, a part of the universe dies with them. And then planets where you have exiled me are born. Because the innocent who become victims of wars waged to satisfy others interests, form alliance with the deeply hurt conscience of the universe. Which then takes measures to settle the score on their behalf- Universe does not believe in revenge, it believes only in balance. Complete and total balance.

Now, if you would excuse me, I would like to visit my old lab, and meet someone I have always loved. I hope she remembers me still. My wobbling planet is like a desert that bears mirages of her unsettled beauty and memories.

Day after tomorrow the wobbling event will end and I would like to be transported back to my planet where everything shakes except her memories!”

The community members hung their faces and offered him expressions that were neutral. They could neither agree nor deny his request. So, he went and met the person; and after a day he returned to his planet. Not with her memories, but this time with her.

We hear, there he has created a new world in the sand desert. Many say it is a world that nothing can destroy. And if you want to know what this world looks like and what advancements he achieved in science and technology that left all of us wondering about his innovative streak that appears to be infinite. Then you must explore the science fiction novel, They Loved in 2075.

This sifi novel, They Loved in 2075, is majorly a romance science fiction, because people like him tend to be compulsive romantics. It adds an emotional layer to their scientific resoluteness and makes them feel more grounded and humbled. It adds a purpose to their lives. Without it they feel like missiles with no defined target.

To experience what this humbleness and true scientific brilliance feels like. They Loved in 2075, is the only scifi novel that explains it with simplicity that you would fall in love with.

Moreover, in 2075, our world, the Earth will be surrounded by threats of global warming, degrading environment and emotional crisis. All due to the rise of self aware and human like machines. And to deal with them, humans will have to evolve rapidly. This sci-fi novel, defines the course of this evolution via a love story that can be anyones story. Because we all have loved once, because once in our lives we all have felt deeply emotional towards someone special.

Maybe that is why the sand people believe:

Facts do not live in time. They are facts irrespective of the existence of time. They were the same yesterday, they are the same today and they shall be the same tomorrow as well!
