Science fiction. A world beyond life

The universe developed a strange kind of hostility towards our species. It was not all of a sudden, but it surely happened, and we were caught in it by complete surprise. And this is the strangest part! Because we turned the universe hostile. And being its very cause, yet we were surprised by what was an absolute outcome of our own doings.

Strange, isn't it!

That is what is special and strangely unique about our species. The species that turned the universe hostile towards life that is capable of thinking. Because when the thinking ability of this thinking species amplifies, this species sometimes thinks it can outperform the mind of the universe. The greatest thinking minds of all.

It took us billions of years to irritate the universe to such an extent that we forced it to become our foe. Casting ourselves into a battle that was going to get ugly and fierce. Because it involved two adversaries, both capable of thinking, but one of them was the origin of everything.

In the beginning we thought we were winning the battle against every cosmic force, and we believed we would soon tame it. But we were not going to achieve this objective under any circumstances because our fundamental objectivity was flawed. Yes, it was flawed. Because the cosmos is born to think. Whereas we as a species need to live in order to be able to think.

And this is where we went wrong.

Because we believed we could tame a thinking force that can forgo this need to live, and yet think. And when we began taming its outermost and unimportant rings of force, we thought we had tamed the universe. As we crossed this tamed ring of not so significant force of the universe, we realised there were deeper rings that were completely beyond our understanding. Thus we were caught in its infinity of forces; and our finite knowledge could no longer deal with it.

It was at this stage we realised; what we had hoped to tame with so much desperation, had actually evolved into a compulsion where we were desperate to prove that our minds were superior to the mind of the universe. This baseless desperation had turned us into a species that took a lot of pleasure in being the hangman of every moment that presented itself as a moment of glorious opportunities. Because we had succeeded in trapping ourselves in its loops of extreme forces, where we began solving the mysteries of one loop, only to get caught in another loop.

At this stage, our top minds began contemplating, and unanimously decided that we need to rethink the way we understand the universe and its workings. Because we had failed in understanding its true mind, a mind that is always in a deeply immersive state, where it generates thoughts that manage the universe and everything within it. And it achieves this without feeling the need to tame any of these forces.

The universe feels no requirement whatsoever to tame anything, because its grand mind has created the cosmos with a perfect balance where everything is in total order. And when there is balance and complete order, there is no need to tame anything at all. Because it will always generate the expected and accurate outcome.

But by now, the universe had already turned hostile and it had ousted us from every realm where it offered every means to support the life that was capable of thinking. And at this point we were left with just one choice: To live in the outer circles of the universe’s weakest forces. Because we could not survive the hostilities of its inner and stronger circles that retained a tremendous amount of force.

It was during this phase of our nomadic existence that we began to realise our misjudgements. And we also doubted our interpretation of the universe where we harboured the will to tame it, because we wanted to become its masters. Whereas there was no need to be the master of the universe, that thrived on the principle of offering every life form complete freedom to exist in total compatibility with its needs, desires and wishes. Without making any compromise. As long as our desires and wishes did not lead to an interjection between cosmic forces that establish balance across the universe and our desires that would in most likelihood challenge this balance.

At this point we felt like the most infamous entities of the universe, who strove to reinforce their sordid expression of freedom across the universe. And this obsession had led us into the situation where our interests clashed with the selfless construction and existence of the universe. And when the universe sensed it, we became the subjects of its endless and justified hostilities.

However, we as a species were still caught in a different form of snobbery, a sort of conservativeness of liberal scientific thinking.

Well, let me explain this in more detail. When we lived on a beautiful planet that was created by the universe to serve our every wish, our every desire, we gradually learned to think partially like the universe. As we made progress, at a certain point we began thinking that we now were the masters of everything that existed in this infinite universe. And when we believed this, we had made our species the victims of our knowledge that actually was inadequate at this stage. Because it only dealt with a few forces of the universe. The forces that exist in outer rings of the universe where these forces are very weak and insignificant, compared to the dynamic forces of the universe that manage its chief affairs.

This fact can be better explained by this thought:

Formerly, when religion was strong and science was weak, men mistook magic for medicine; now, when science is strong and religion weak, men mistake medicine for magic.

This was exactly the case with our species.

When our species was still trying to understand the world that we existed in, we created societies, and then as societies grew bigger and evolved into complex sets of many societies, we laid the foundations of civilisations. And to maintain order, there was a need for a singular force that would hold these civilisations together. And this purpose was served by religion and the Gods that the religions represented.

Religion will always take the credit of making our societies more stable and offering us a common purpose, where we all feel united and not divided. And this unity in belief, led to peace, that further gave rise to reasoning and logic in the form of science.

And when we achieved scientific advancements, we felt that the religion was unnecessary, because we felt it was replaceable. And in this attempt, we reinvented human societies where science and science driven utilities of life and affairs of life were gradually offered religion-like importance. And it was exactly at this point, we neglected one major fact.

Human societies are a unison of multiple thinking bits, in the form of individuals who have personalities and individual choices. And it is only religion that offers a commonly accepted platform where these different thinking bits form one bite of thought. That finds some sort of subconscious association and conformity with the religion or the God that a religion represents. It can be any religion and any God that the religion represents.

But with the introduction of science, where we felt it should replace religion, we created disharmony in these multiple thinking bits. Because it invoked in them the need to think independently as thinking bits, and only consider the individual personality of the thinking bit as a primary source of happiness.

Due to this, these thinking bits were now failing to form a unified thinking bite. Because the platform that truly and seamlessly converged these bits into one uniform bite, had been dissolved. And the new platform, though intended to offer the same unifying platform-like functional purpose, led to clashes: clashes of interest, clashes in taste, clashes in preferences, clashes of desires, clashes of goals, too many clashes. And as it grew in scale, it led to chaos. Complete and total disaccord.

Finally it got very complex, when these opposing thinking bits gathered together and exploded.

This was the explosion of individual personalities, where the universe was faced with a unique challenge. That of fulfilling every desire of every thinking bit. And this put too much pressure on its resources. To the extent that it sucked out life from the resources it loved. It loved these resources dearly because its own survival depended on them.

Let me explain further.

Let us say there are two people.

Both of them like bananas.

As long as it was about bananas the universe was glad and happy to fulfil the wishes of both of them. It had no objection whatsoever to let them savour them at their ease and without any protest from the universe.

And these individuals were happy with a banana each, because their religious and social beliefs had cultivated in them a sense of luxurious contentment- The universe does not oppose luxury because it does not oppose comfort. If it did, the celestial bodies in the solar system would not move on such vast, well balanced, perfectly organised and spacious orbits.

The actual problem started when each one of them was thinking like an individual thinking bit. Based on his personality's desires, aroused by not well thought and well practised science, but by misguided and ill thought science.

Here is how.

  • Now one of the individual’s wanted a banana that was bright yellow

The second individual wanted a banana that was dull yellow

  • One of them wanted a banana that was extremely sweet, sweeter than its organic taste

The other one wanted a banana that was less sweet, far lesser than its organic sweetness

  • One of them wanted it to contain higher concentration of fibre

The second individual wanted it without any fibre

  • One of them wanted its skin to be thin and less sticky while peeling it off

The other one wanted it thicker and stickier while peeling

  • And one of them took it too far, he wanted it to smell like vanilla

While the other one wanted to retain its original flavours

Bloody one banana and so many thinking bits!

Now this infinite variable based need for bananas, put too much pressure on the universe. Because to grow so many varieties of bananas for two people, would need:

  • Different soil types

  • Different climatic conditions

  • A lot of genetic editing of the banana

  • Varying scales of rainfall to keep them well hydrated

  • Different temperatures as well, because the person who likes the banana with thin skin, would demand less exposure to sunshine.

So you see what happened? And this is just a simple example of a banana. if I count all of them, even infinity would feel shy, because it cannot accommodate them all. Universe, supports luxurious contentment, but it does not support extravagant luxurious contentment.

Like they say: Eating on gold plates with a silver spoon is fine. As long as you can afford it. And when you see a needy person you still feel the genuine need to help him/her. Then nothing should stop this person from using a golden plate and a silver spoon. It is perfectly alright!

But when you are eating on a gold plate with a silver spoon, and then you feel the need to sprinkle gold dust on your food and only then consume it. With complete disregard for the person who cannot even afford a square meal. Hnmmmm, at that point, you certainly have forced the universe to adopt reactionary mode, that only fools interpret as retaliatory mode.

And this is what happened with the resources that the universe depended upon. It offered us these resources, but our ill conceived scientific adventures put so much strain on them, that they had turned sterile and they had nothing to offer us. At this juncture the Universe reacted!

Anyway,

At this point, the universe decided to expel us from its life supporting realms, because we had turned too greedy. Eating banana with vanilla essence is a great combination, it tastes amazing. But breeding a banana separately to taste like vanilla is unnecessary. Because plants that yield vanilla, also have the right to grow. But the unending need to grow and sustain banana plantations killed every prospect of other plants to sustain their species. And it made us guilty of committing the most terrible act for which we had to pay a penalty.

However, the universe is a very kind force, it is reactionary by design, but it is not retaliatory in its construction. So it still was willing to offer us a chance and rethink. But few of us were still obsessed with the desire to challenge the mind of the universe.

It was so extreme in few cases, that if a rose existed in so many colours and its petals bore different patterns. Few of us still felt the need to grow a rose that developed colourful patterns in its petals. Patterns like: triangles, squares, rectangles etc. And when this happened, the universe looked at us and most probably chuckled, and I am sure, it missed and thought a lot about the artistic sense of late Mr. Claude Monet.

And now that science had completely replaced the platform that allowed different thinking bits to unify, the individual thinking bits began interfering with the regular originality of reality and its different forms that exist in the universe.

Its best example being AI developed paintings. At this stage the universe felt the need to expel us from the universe because we were mocking its artistic sense.

The universe does not create anything, without feeling it and feeling for it.

But AI driven intelligent systems were programmed to create artistic forms based on this logical pattern:

  • See

  • Observe

  • Emulate

  • Render

  • Re-process

  • Refine

  • Redefine

So, AI generated art forms without the need to feel. And with this ability it had entered into a direct clash with the universe. Because it began redefining things without feeling anything about them at all.

At this point the universe developed deep hostility towards us. Because we had disrespected geniuses like Mr. Claude Monet. Who revolutionised impressionist painting, because he painted what he felt and perceived. Unlike AI.

The universe had just one reaction: How disgusting and how ungrateful!

You see, since then our species has been living in exile. Because our planet is dead and we are yet to find a planet that would sustain a species like us. But few of us believe, the universe knows we are seeking a new planet, and it will not reveal it to us unless it is sure that our intentions are selfless, gracious and our hearts are purged.

That is why we have formed a new community of thinking species who believe in thoughtful, considerate, futuristic, sensitive, humanity and universe centric science. Our species calls us the breakaway group. But we do not feel ashamed at all, because we know what we are pursuing; and we believe science should improve human lives and lifestyles without harming the nature that supports us.

Here is the good news. We have found a planet that can support our species. And as of today, it is just a few of us who will represent our species on this new planet.

And we felt the need to write this blog post, in order to express our gratitude and earnest feelings of gratefulness towards the mind of the Universe that is omnipotent. And we do not intend to develop artificial brains that can compete with this grand mind of the universe. At least not as of now.

But we surely will when the universe thinks we are qualified enough, and we have developed all qualities to support its mind and not clash with it. Then why not! We too would, because we should. It is the only means for our species to evolve into super thinking beings and become intergalactic.

One fine day. On that right and perfect someday!

Because we have learned that prematurity in anything leads to disasters.

We maybe the so-called breakaway group, but we learned one great lesson that helped us find this new home. And the lesson was very simple and basic. “ Life is like playing a violin solo in public and learning the instrument as one goes on.” And in the case of true science, the universe is the public. And until we master the symphonies that please every secret of the universe, we will have to keep playing, without ever letting the thought cross our mind that we have perfected it. Until we really have!

And the science fiction novel, They Loved in 2075, is the story of a similar believer, a similar solo violinist, who has found a beautiful companion in the woman he loves. And together they play their violins to the universe that has been enraged by a few clans representing their planet. Who desperately want to tame the universe, and in this obsession, they have transformed the planet into a hostile place that does not support life.

Yet, this boy and his beautiful woman fall in love and they wage a war against those who are at war with the universe. Will the universe support them or will the universe be tamed by the anti-universe forces? To know, you must read the sci fi novel, They Loved in 2075.
