Science fiction - The escape

#Sciencefiction - The escape

The world in the Year 3050 bears no resemblance whatsoever with the old world, a lost world. It is a world where a lot has changed. If you have read the scifi novel, Altered Carbon, by Richard K Morgan, you will understand it better.

Altered Carbon Richard K Morgan

Although many believe it is a civilisation that now has achieved ultimate scientific advancement, there are many who believe it is so on the artificial layer of reality, and when you look deeper there is not much that has evolved in terms of scientific achievements.

For the 80% population that lives in this artificial layer of reality, they are made to believe that humanity has achieved a utopia like state. But this is nothing more than a self-invented, and then aggressively propagated act of false abdication, where the goal is to paint the picture of a world that is truly cared for by a select few. The special few who possess no worldly desires.

And through this act of glorified abdication these special few want to be perceived as kind and gracious humans. Who they are not!

Behind this they have an agenda that seeks to let these people (80% of the population) , living in the artificial layer of reality, believe in this phantom of reality. That happens to be a huge simulation of neo, but pseudo perceptions artificially integrated into the world that the 80% of the world population interacts with every day without realising that it is not real.

But what about the 20% of the population?

The ones who appear to live as a part of this artificial simulation too but only they know the true difference between what is real and what is just an artificially generated visual and mental perception.

And among them too there are a select few who are truly generous and want to help humanity achieve the much needed moment of redemption. Because they know due to increasing interaction of humans with the artificial reality, the core social fabric of human societies has been destroyed and social value systems are beginning to collapse. Which in advanced stages will give rise to human interactions and relationships, where everything will be need based and not based on human values, and a simple, but the most beautiful feeling of love and unconditional care.

And if it continues like this they know the human race will perish forever because then human pursuits and human existence will become purposeless.

Recently there has been a shift, because many who belong to the 80% of the population, living as a part of this artificial reality have realised that something is incohesive and not pertinent at all, because they are unable to go beyond a certain point. And this boundary that they refer to as POINT, applies to multiple aspects of their lives. Therefore, this POINT, which happens to be the personal determinant of a boundary, means different things to different people.

For a few it is the inability to go beyond the saturation point they have reached in terms of #science and technology, to many it is about their lack of resources to implement new scientific ideas, but for the majority of them it is about dwindling resources necessary to sustain life on this planet.

It is these few people who plan to escape the artificial layer of reality in order to reinstate the true layer of reality, with no artificial or fake layers- A world anchored in realism that supports life without any disparity.

However, there is a problem. Senior members of the 20% population have realised this and they want to prevent the rebel members of the 80% population from knowing too much about the artificial layer of reality that they usually interact with.

Because it is in this artificial layer of reality that 80% of the population lives as a  simulation, based on their likings and dislikings. Where the artificial layer has an information layer dedicated to every citizen. Which is mostly about what he/she likes or dislikes, and based on these individual information layers, the artificial layer of reality creates a world similar to Metaverse, where he she is surrounded by things he/she likes. And when he/she walks into this artificial layer of reality, he/she is tempted by these elements of personal likings to satisfy the end objective that can be any of the following variables:

  • Avail services

  • Buy products

  • Visit a medical store or a health consultant

  • Visit a super store ( these are the shops of the future )

  •  Invest in a deal etc.

  • Anything related with spending and investing money and this array can be interminable. But it gets narrowed down at individual levels based on his/her likings. That is how the algorithm works, and it also applies a bit of Chaos Theory to meet its objectives.

But this artificial layer of reality has a major flaw, that enables few people who are a part of the 80% population to first realise it and then easily overcome its mind rigging tactic that it achieves by overwhelming you with visuals, by seeking a hint of your thoughts, and then juxtaposing it with visual resources that feed your thought/liking/need relentlessly until you submit to the will of this artificial layer. So, it even manages your wishes, if you may choose to define it that way for the sake of simplicity.

And like I mentioned earlier, there are a few who have realised its existence in the main layer of reality and they have now achieved a kind of immunity towards this mind rigging artificial layer of reality. And they know it's true weakness. Which if exploited can redefine the fundamentals of marketing tactics in the future.

According to them, one of the predominant side effects of this realisation is that it makes you detest brands that you may love otherwise, because you feel used and manipulated. And that is how the 80% population is beginning to feel and it will soon redefine the reality of everything that exists in this artificial layer of reality.

And they believe the best way to deal with it is to adopt old and conventional ways when it comes to marketing. Even in the early 80s and 90s companies and brands used to market their products and services but that aggression was not invasive. Because then the artificial layer of reality did not appear to be 100% artificial. Even if one realised it, he/she still felt no invasion of his/her will to choose, and he/she felt she was in control of his/her life and its decisions. But due to the introduction of an invasive layer of artificial reality over the core layer of actual reality the person who belongs to the 80% population is bound to turn into a rebel who wants to claim what is rightfully his/her.

And in the midst of all this, the 80% population is planning an escape from this artificial layer of reality. Because they feel it is worthless being a part of the world projected by Richard K. Morgan in his science fiction novel titled, Altered Carbon.

The artificial layer of reality stores their memories and every detail along with their consciousness. But once they are dead, their bodies can be revived and their memories along with their consciousness can be rebooted into a synthetic memory chip that has an interface to engage with the human brain. So you are who you used to be. But after having lived for 200 years, the chip begins to deteriorate and memories tend to overlap, causing a complete system collapse, and when that happens, the human brain that is functioning as a command centre passing instructions to human organs and nervous system begins to misinterpret the signals it receives from this artificial memory chip. At this stage the chip dies and it causes the death of the individual too.

And it is in this 2nd phase of his/her life when he/she is alive based on this synthetic memory chip, that the artificial layer over the layer of reality is not needed because he/she is nothing more than and nothing less than this memory chip. Which functions based on memories from the previous life and by re-stacking these memories in sequences where they make sense to the person who is experiencing them. But at some point the re-stacking of memories develops a bug and then the bug spreads across all sectors of the memory chip. It is then that the subject needs to be turned off permanently. ( A subject, because he/she has an artificial existence which has no autonomy. Almost like the movie Universal soldier. )

The 80% population living in this synthetic layer of reality experiences a world based on their likings and dislikings, because it creates a meta verse exclusive to every individual, where he/she is fed with visuals based on his/her preferences. He/she feels he/she is living in a real world, but it is actually a marketing jingle. And few, due to some evolutionary advantage, have begun to identify this jingle with 100% obviousness and they know exactly when and how it begins to reveal its flaws.

At this stage the pseudo world of reality falls apart and makes you think more seriously about the scifi novel, Altered Carbon and the realities of the futuristic world depicted in the #sciencefiction novel, They Loved in 2075

But it is not the case with 20% of the population. When they assume their second life, the memory chips never fail and they even form new memories and keep stacking new and infinite layers of memories, based on the subjects daily experiences. Because their memory chips have a direct sync with photon based servers. Where light is trapped, then via magnetic manipulation it creates memory slots/sectors where information can be stored in endless and infinite stacks. They call it the cloud that knows everything, because it stores everything and everyone's memories and thoughts. And these subjects can even live forever. If they choose so.

Immortality, where you exist with every bit of your memory and your consciousness because your memory chip is linked to photon servers.

But lately few members, who belong to 80% of the population, have been working on an escape from the cloud that knows everything about them. If they can achieve this, they will be able to gain access to the memory chips with infinite memory slots that the 20% of the population embeds in their brains when they commence the second phase of their lives.

And this is how they plan to escape from the cloud which is the source of the artificial layer of reality.

They know that the artificial layer knows everything about everyone, so it develops their artificial personalities and then embeds them into the layer of artificial reality. Which counters the actual personality of the 80% population at individual level by defining variables that are most likely to sync with their likings and their will. And as the system learns about their likings the number of variables is so exact that now the artificial personality of the individual = the actual personality of the individual. An exact artificial clone that is just like you and it knows you more than you!

They plan to confuse the cloud and embed a bug in it, which would disrupt its memory stacking logic.

They select 6 volunteers who are 60 years old or above. Because they know the cloud has stored a lot of their memories and experiences. And now their daily acts ( a combination of likings, choices, dislikings, will etc. ) are directly feeding and interacting with the main algorithm that develops predictions about their future e.g.

  • What they will do next moment

  • What they will do in an hour

  • What they will do tomorrow

  • What they will do on the weekend

It creates endless predictions and then cross validates them via its master algorithm. And these rebels know that in the case of 6 volunteers the algorithm must have achieved 100% accuracy by now. And at this stage the algorithm accepts their data as a direct feed into its core logic.

Everyone in 3050 is monitored by satellites mounted cameras and smart devices. This helps the artificial layer of reality become smarter so that it can develop a meta verse simulation that the subjects find attractive enough to interact with; and then be lost in its endless arrays of likings, which actually are the subjects’ daily life patterns and experiences.

They ask these 6 volunteers to swap their smart devices, even swap their accommodations, along with all their smart signatures that they create via the smart network. But they are faced with one major hurdle, via the satellite cameras the artificial layer of reality would recognise swapping of Individuals/Subjects and become aware of it.

So, they create nano, smart particle based face masks. Which via an AI generated system can mimic any face and its expressions with unmatched exactness. And with these facial masks activated the 6 volunteers start leading the other person’s life.

The smart and artificial layer of reality feeds these new patterns into the core database. And in the 2nd month the algorithm becomes aware that its predictions that were 100% accurate are now 100% inaccurate. And with this realisation it develops a bug, because it enters into reassessment mode of all subjects to find clues for this change in patterns. But it is unable to detect anything that would identify this change in patterns. Therefore it self edits the core algorithm and after a few months the artificial layer of reality begins to fade away and the real layer of the reality appears in its purest and native form to the 80% of the population.

And with the artificial layer of reality erased they can now see the location of photon servers. With this secret revealed the 20% of the population is left with only one choice, to fulfil their demands and grant them access to partial immortality if not absolute immortality.

Although it seems the 20% of the population wanted to do something to correct the disintegrating and morally corrupt social system, they were too busy enhancing their own immortality, where they sought to achieve God like infinity. And all that based on photon servers which can stack layers of infinite data. But when they had achieved this milestone they were caught in a new problem, how many infinities could it store?

Because the infinity too consists of sets and subsets. So if you can trap data worth infinity, it is almost impossible to trap data that = all infinities that exist in all realms of the universe. And to achieve that kind of memory and database, that also works like a quantum processor, photon technology based servers pose endless limitations. So, what should that ultimate server be that holds data = all infinities? This question had started bothering the 20% of the population and in this obsession they forgot their obligations towards the 80% of the population, that actually is the main force of the world.

But when we look at the universe, it acts based on a pattern. And one might ask who has defined this pattern and how does a star know it should form or die, and why do planets travel in certain orbits? If we look at it, it is a part of a grand database, and the servers for managing such a database is the secret that the universe shall reveal only to a few. To the kind and loving few.

Until it finds that right person, we will have to live with our photon servers.

And not forgetting about the 80% of the population is also a good way to get closer to knowing the secret about the Server that manages the universe with infinite accuracy, and not just 100% accuracy.

As we all learned, the 80% of the population finally escaped from the world that was actually unreal.

And the #scifi novel, They Loved in 2075, talks about the more exciting escape of two lovers who are caught in the war between humans and self aware machines. #Scifi novel, They Loved in 2075, is about love , is about obsession with dangerous technology, is about pioneering, Humanity favouring and Earth centric technology; and it is about human emotions and feelings. And if you are a #scifi reader who knows his/her responsibility towards the Earth and its preservation, then this scifi novel is for you.

They Loved in 2075, is your escape into the reality that our future generations will have to experience. And it will be in the interest of the human race, if we act responsibly now and leave behind a legacy that our future generations can be proud of. And there is no greater legacy than leaving behind a still habitable and green Earth for our future generations.

All #Scifibooks are based on fiction with a part that is real. But They Loved in 2075, is a #scifibook that is based on most likely reality. A reality that will impact us all in 2075.
