Chandrayaan-3 And India Reach For The Stars!

Chandrayaan-3 And India Reach For The Stars!

As Chandrayaan-3 took off and gained height, India cheered, and many people could feel their racing heart beats just like me. This created a tremendous clamour of feelings and emotions. But all this faded away in the thunderous roar of the Chandrayaan-3 engines that were now generating optimum thrust. Every other noise turned mute, and somehow, subconsciously my mind placed the auditory nerves in a state where they were now only able to sense the roaring engines that were mocking at the forces of gravity. As if to establish one fact, “before human will all forces eventually do yield.” And Chandrayaan-3 proved it.

The scientists who tirelessly worked to build these rockets defined the new quantum of human will. A will that is relentless and exceptionally formidable and capable of being called “the iron will of science, made in India!”

This is what makes it a proud moment for India; but at the same time, it has done the Global Community of scientists proud as well. Because Chandrayaan-3 goes to prove that with collaboration, humans can achieve anything. We can even dissect the building blocks of Dark Matter, it is all a matter of political will to invest in joint scientific ventures, where the goal shall be to usher humanity into a Type 2 Civilisation, Then from there Type, 3,4,5,6 and eventually Type 7 Civilisation. Although many scientists believe that for humans becoming a Type 7 Civilisation is impossible.

However, the launch of Chandrayaan-3 which bears few important payloads, has definitely taken us closer to becoming a Type 2 civilisation. As for becoming a Type 7 civilisation, I think it is too premature to rule it out as a possibility. Because, we can only say for sure once we have reached or become a Type 3 or Type 4 civilisation. Judging it now, when we are not even a fully evolved Type 1 civilisation, will be like watching the movie, Prometheus with stone age people. And trust me, the movie would be too boring for them. We all know why- They would not be able to understand the concept. And leave alone watching a movie like InterStellar with them. But watching a movie like Tarzan, would be a different experience all together. They would definitely enjoy every moment of this movie. It is a hard fact of life, and one cannot deny it. There is a right time for everything.

It is the same with science, we make progress gradually and in steps. And Chandrayaan-3 is a step in this direction, and right now my excitement has no boundaries because India is Moon Bound. I do not know much about the Martians, the current fact is, we in India have gotten closer to becoming The Proud Lunar Men and Women. And we are joined by all optimists who believe in good and original science.

And it is a proud moment for the Global community of scientists. Due to one major fact; that most of the scientists involved in making India’s tryst with cosmic explorations a reality, are females. And it only proves India’s faith in the endless potential of women, and its efforts to offer equal opportunities to women.

Many of the powerful Gods in Hinduism are females. So, this makes me to believe that India has been an advanced civilisation in the past, in the sense that it had offered equal rights to women when many humans did not even know how to spell the word “rights!” And this too makes Chandrayaan-3 launch very special. It bears every quality to create History.

You will be left completely amazed when I tell you that Indian Scriptures define the God of Knowledge, as Goddess Saraswati. A female, who rests on a Lotus flower. And the Lotus flower is symbolic and represents many things. Now going into that detail will take a lot of time. So for now, let us be satisfied with the primary fact, “That Goddess Saraswati” is revered in India as the Goddess of knowledge. And the development of Chandrayaan-3 has proven India’s tradition of respecting women and offering them special status in the society, that of equality. With all avenues and means to help them realise their dreams. Because they deserve it!

Well, there are many who tend to deride and show such scientific endeavours in low esteem, because they are compulsive pessimists who believe the Universe is round, and the circle begins with them and ends with them as well. These incidents or events should not discourage the optimists who have given this world great inventions like:

  • Aeroplanes
  • Rockets
  • Satellites
  • Computers
  • Smart Phones

Ah, now please do not make me list everything, because optimism has no end, whereas pessimism always ends where reality begins. And that is its ineviatble tragedy. It always dwells inside a finite loop, without realising that the loop that surrounds it, is the infinite loop of reality.

So let India’s community of optimists feel proud, and as Chandrayaan-3 gains proximity with the Moon, the loop of reality shall constrict the finite loop of pessimism. And the infinite loop of reality shall be strengthened further as the global community of science loving optimists lauds India for its Lunar Landing, and the community of global science enthusiasts re-establish their belief in the potential of joint ventures and collaboration driven scientific projects.

This is what shall take humanity closer to becoming Type 7 civilisation. I think it is the only way to become a Type 7 civilisation, because in this Type of civilisation, people can even transfer their conscience from one place to another.

Oh no, oh no!

I do not want to mix philosophy with science right now. So let me stay on course, while I am optimistic that Chandrayaan-3 will maintain its trajectory and course. And finally make a safe landing at the predefined destination point on the Moon.

For now gravity will not be at play, it will be algorithms, sensors, software programs and sleepless nights invested by ISRO scientists and the entire network of suppliers, whose aspirations will be put to test against the hardy wall of cosmic realities. I am optimistic that the mission will succeed. It already has succeeded in fulfilling many objectives even before the lander and rover land near the lunar south pole region on 23 August 2023.

It may happen that there are a few glitches or some sensor does not respond, but as long as we persist in responding to the challenges of the unseen and unexplored dimensions of the cosmos, I would term Chandrayaan-3 a grand success. Especially when it comes to India’s dream to be a Global force in space technology.

It also goes to prove that India as a country is willing to invest in joint space ventures with other countries like the USA, and many countries in Europe. To facilitate the bigger and much higher dream, that of supporting the global community of optimistic scientists who due to limited funding, often have to shelve their ideas, ideas that could change the world for good.

As Chandrayaan-3 will land on the Moon, India will send a clear message to the world that we are ready and willing as a nation to collaborate with other countries for scientific endeavours where humanity is the main beneficiary.

I personally believe India has tremendous potential in the space exploration sector. Its youth has the right acumen and scientific thinking. This very fact can make India one of the most preferred destinations when it comes to investing in  the global community of science and scientific explorations.

While Chandrayaan-3 is Moon bound, I invoke the God of Mechanics, Lord Vishvakarma, and seek His blessings for the safe and precise landing of the Chandrayaan-3. As for everything else, I am sure, the scientists and every member involved in the development of Chandrayaan-3, have put in their best efforts, to be the apt guiding force to enable Chandrayaan-3’s tryst with its destination. The Moon.

From tonight onwards, I shall seek it in the darkness of the sky in the midst of million twinkling stars, and hope it is there marching forth carrying India’s hopes and scientific brilliance to the new height. The height of optimistic Science!

(Go forth and tell the Gods we have arrived, India has arrived! May the cosmic force and the guidance of Lord Vishvakarma propel you into the trajectory of highest precision.)

I will conclude this blog post here, while I am overwhelmed by my emotional quotient and my mind is still etched to Chandrayaan-3, I am sure it will witness how the Sun shines on the Moon during the night, and relay to us new stories, the stories of the Moon, and this time from the Moon!

For the community of scientists and thinking men and women, I would like to add a quote by Mr. Tom Stoppard, “life is a gamble, at terrible odds - if it was a bet you would not take it.”

And this time the technologically developed life shall be at odds with the entire Universe, but when Chandrayaan-3 lands on the Lunar surface, we shall prove that a good intentioned human will, will always manage to land where it intends to. This time it is the Moon and in the coming years, it shall be the entire universe.

And like we Muslims say “Insha Allah!” And like the Christians say the same “ By the will and grace of God!”

This is what makes India so unique and such an attractive country. I sometimes feel, there is everybody here and everything here, in just one country. Plurality dwelling in singularity. Simply beautiful and fascinating!

So I must say:

  • Masha Allah!
  • Hallelujah
  • Om Tat sat!
  • Waheguru ji ki Fateh!

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mashallah

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hallelujah

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Om_Tat_Sat

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Waheguru

Now after such an array of blessings and hopes tied to Chandrayaan-3, it will land among the stars, that is certain; even if all cosmic odds shall conspire against it. So smile, look up at the night sky tonight, and place your hopes on a star, and dream away. Dream away like an optimist, who believes anything is possible when humans collaborate to achieve goals with good intentions!

Fly well, fly high and until August, I bid you farewell. And I shall seek you in the night sky among the stars, because India has every right to be a star bound nation, just like any other nation with good political intentions!

PS. As you look at the night sky, please listen to this song sung by the legend, Mr. Frank Sinatra and think of Chandrayaan-3, and hum along "Fly me to the Moon, Let me play among the stars, Let me see what Spring is like on Jupiter and Mars, In other words hold my hand, In other words darling kiss me...... :
