Best selling scifi books. That fine line!

Best selling scifi books. That fine line!

Mammon is in everything and everywhere. It all depends on the person how he/she sees things and then investigates them with an open minded perspective. Where every door of new possibility is left open to let the new and intelligent thought enhance the overall perspicuity of the person investigating it with his/her given sets of beliefs; and knowledge around this concept/thought.

For this new concept or any experimental mental expression being reviewed it is essential that the person reviewing them uses an open minded approach. One that is willing to offer mutually acceptable and a tangible sustenance to both: the concept/thought being reviewed and the person investigating it with his/her given sets of beliefs and knowledge around this concept/thought.

And when he/she has accomplished investigating the concept/thought with a mentally liberal approach. Then he/she either inclines towards the bogusness of the concept/thought or he/she is able to discover the scientifically verifiable and logically valid argument that proves that the new concept/thought is worthy of necessary scientific accreditations without being biased towards its conceiver.

And this applies to #sciencefiction books as well. Because they carry amazing scientific ideas, where it depends on the reader to either find a fascinating scientific reality that can be offered a tryst with reality, by applying logic and iron willed scientific perseverance. Or simply rule out these amazing scientific ideas as mammon like entities.

When a #scifi reader prematurely disqualifies the scientific idea proposed in the scifi book as bogus or mammon like. Then this act tantamount to flagrant violation of reader’s heroism.

And what is reader’s heroism? It is the ability of the reader to find the scientific opulence without arriving at conclusions, when he/she has not even interacted or understood the concept or the flow of the #scifi story. Because a hero, for that matter any hero, is a person who always recognises the hero in others and then via his/her personal discretion allows this hero in others to express his/her beliefs, and then compare them with his/her own beliefs. And if he/she comes across any contentious aspects, the hero takes them up with the so called adversary without being malign or obtuse. Because he/she knows that there is always a common ground that can be reached by taking well thought steps towards it. And every true hero is always willing to resort first to intellectual discourse. Yet if no common ground is in sight, then they use logical debate to find a solution. And a reader too has similar responsibilities, because when a reader is reading a scfi book with a well conceived scientific concept, it may happen that the concept is contrary to the reader's knowledge on that topic. Simply closing the scifi book and passing judgement that it is a poorly conceived scifi book, will make the #scifi reader a lesser hero. Because he/she failed to act within the premise of the reader’s heroism.

How?

Because he/she ruled out the scientific concept as bogus and mammon like, without evaluating it fully. And then he/she failed to use his/her logical sense to first understand it in totality, and then find a scientific common ground where he/she as a reader is able to enter into an abstract conversation with the author, who is willing to enter into a direct but a non-argumentative discussion with the reader via every word expressed in his/her scifi book. And if a reader cannot enter into this type of conversation, then the reader is being unheroic with a serious propensity towards judging scientific concepts and others without knowing the real and true facts.

And it is this fine line that the scifi reader has to be aware of while interacting with any scifi book. More particularly when he/she is reading the best selling scifi book. Because if it is a best selling scifi book, then the author of the scifi book is surely a greater hero; and he/she deserves some respect. And it is in case of these best selling #scifibooks that reader’s heroism is of highest importance; because without it, it will be impossible to understand the scientific concept expressed in the best selling scifi book. And it is this reader’s heroism that decides the fine line that the scifi reader needs to maintain while he/she enters into this abstract conversation with the author of best selling #scifi book.

Perhaps so far I have been able to explain what I meant by the phrase, “Mammon is in everything and everywhere!”

Now let us understand the fine line that exists between the scifi reader and the author. Once again, there are fine lines everywhere and in every relationship.

Between husband and wife, mother and son, brother and sister, friends and enemies, buyer and seller; it is everywhere. And it tends to become very prominent and dominant in case of the scifi reader and the scifi author. And if this fine line is violated, then either the scifi reader or the scifi author is being fiendish, by ignoring the intellectual common ground that needs to be accessed first in order to enter the main ground where the main act of science fiction is taking place- In the mind of the author that is being represented by the #scifi book; and the scifi reader who wants to gain access to this mind of the author via his/her own mind. But this intellectual communion will be broken if either of the two resolve to act within the conservative scientific mindset, that almost always extirpates every door responsible for offering access to the mind of the author.

But does this mean it is only the scifi reader who should possess a liberal scientific mindset and not the author of the best selling scifi book?

Ah, in case of the scifi author the responsibility is even greater. Because he/she is conversing with the mind of the scifi reader via his/her scifi book. And to maintain a conversational flow that answers every query of the scifi reader. The scifi author has to first choose every word with lot of forethought and then very thoughtfully form sentences and paragraphs, that merge with the main story with such eloquence that the reader automatically receives answers to all his/her queries; as he/she reads through the pages of the scifi book.

A scifi book is like a prayer, where the one praying is constantly expressing his/her wishes, desires; and the God is listening patiently without ever reverting in an audible and discernible voice. Yet the one praying, prays everyday without losing his/her faith. And when it comes to maintaining the fine line between the scifi reader and the scifi author. The scifi reader has to understand that he/she is the one praying and the scifi author needs to understand that the scifi reader will express many desires and wishes, which the scifi author has to pre-assume and then formulate paragraphs in such a way that they answer these prayers of the scifi reader as he/she is interacting with the scifi book.

And it is here that the main difference lies.

When we pray to God, we hope our prayers will be answered. We hope, and we keep praying every day, even when we are dying as a person whose no prayer was ever answered. But when it comes to the scifi reader and the scifi author, it is not so. The moment the scifi reader finds out that his/her prayer has not been answered. This scifi reader outrightly exercises his/her right. The right to conclude that he/she is dealing with a mammon and not a genuine god of #scifi, who is not at all a master author of scifi! And it is at this very moment that the communion between the author and the reader is rendered one sided i.e. in the form of the scifi book bearing the thoughts of the author. With which the reader is now unwilling to interact, let alone understand.

If an author realises this, he/she has maintained his/her part of the fine line. And if the reader displays “reader’s heroism" and realises that he/she should orient his/her scientific queries around the logical perimeter of the scientific concept being discussed via the scifi story, then he/she is maintaining his/her part of the fine line.

And very few #scifibooks make it to the list of best selling #scifibooks, and when you review them in detail; these best selling scifi books always maintain this fine line with an unsurmountable perfection. Take for example : The Martian, Dune, Time Machine, Invisible Man etc. If you go through these all time famous scifi books, you will find that these #scifibooks answer reader's queries intelligently and proactively. Only if you have the patience to read every page of the scifi book. And these all time best scifi authors know how to make the reader read to the end, by creating loops of curiosity which are interrelated.

These books are like a relay race of curiosity. Where one curiosity that is answered, leads tho another, then another, and it continues, until you realise you are now on the last page. This is when you can say with confidence that it indeed is the best selling scifi book.

And there is one such scifi book that maintains this fine line quite well, and it organically prompts the scifi reader to adopt his/her mode of “reader’s heroism.” And this is what makes the scifi book, titled, They Loved in 2075 so unique and appealing.

Moreover, this scifi book is unostentatious, because it relies on true scientific adventurousness, and not on misleading scientific concepts that divulge illogical scientific narratives that only seek to impress superficially. Because this #scifi book talks about social and emotional realities that human societies will be facing in 2075. And it achieves this goal in the form of sci-fi romance story, where a boy is in love with a very beautiful girl, who is unable to emote like humans. Because in 2075 many humans have lost their ability to emote like humans because of their excessive interaction with self aware and intelligent machines.

But the boy is hopeful that one day she will be able to revive her human emotions and love him like a human being; and not like a machine. He hopes, and while he is trying and hoping, the world is caught in a destructive war.

To know who survives: The boy? The girl? Or both? And whether she finally chooses to love a human like machine or him, who loves her with the frailties of a human heart. You must read this wonderfully written #scifi book, They Loved in 2075.

In 2075, the world is undergoing a revolution, and as the revolution engulfs all of us, few of us still realise: Nothing has ever remained of any revolution but what was ripe in the conscience of the masses.

But, what if I tell you that in 2075, human minds will be hacked; and then what will become of this conscience of the masses? It is a question we should address today if we do not want to witness our own end at our own hands.

Technological advancement is an amazing thing, and artificial intelligence has the capacity to launch humanity into the orbit of endless progress. Where anything will be possible. But we ought to address one important question now. A simple, three worded question.

“At What Cost?”

Progress that is achieved without sacrificing the human side of our personalities or the progress that is achieved by sacrificing the human side of our personalities?

It is not about your neighbour growing an organic brain in his/her house and then plugging it to an intelligent network. It is more about his/her ability to replicate your brain via this lab grown organic brain, and then use it to hack into your brain, eventually every brain on the planet. It is possible and it can easily be done if one is willing to invest money. I believe it is logically possible and scientifically too and there is enough logical reasoning to support this theory of growing an organic brain that knows everything. How, I shall tell you once you have read the #scifi book titled : They Loved in 2075.
