Science fiction. Time that never exists



Sometimes in life when you feel you have everything sorted out and there is nothing that can disrupt the undisturbed flow of the moments of time reserved by the universe exclusively for you. It is then that you understand the egoistic intricacies of fate that manipulate these moments of time to obey the course defined by fate for everything. So time becomes just a  highway on which life travels, but how and where it travels is determined by fate. The only entity on this highway that actually gets to achieve everything in accordance with its will.


And it was this will of fate, that had launched us into the highway of time where only few dared to travel. Maybe, as of this moment we were the only travellers on it. And it was leading us into the world where we had not intended to go, fate had somehow altered the course of our highway, and we were very close to somewhere that nestled in the region where time led people, but it never led them out of there. Never! Because in that region moments of time that poured in lost their existence; and according to our knowledge nobody has come out of this region alive.


And inspite of this awareness our interplanetary council members had decided our fate and ordered us to travel into this region. A region where time behaves differently and where time seems to have no time for anything, except something mysterious. Our mission is to uncover this mystery.


Once you have entered the region you can stay in the region, but the moment you attempt to escape it, that is the end of your every moment of time. We have been working on a technology for decades now, and it is our hope that once we have entered the region, we will not be lost in its mysterious depths of time.


According to our chief scientists time in this region becomes specifically bound to the person who exists in this region, and some unknown force causes this split in moments of time, and recreates them as individualised moments of time specific to individuals, spaces, regions, etc.  And if a person tries to escape the region, he/she unwillingly tends to steal these moments of time bound to him/her. And when that happens, the forces in this region reclaim these individualised moments of time from this person and retract him/her into the region’s main influence zone. 


The moment this person enters the main zone, he/she loses his/her characteristics and now becomes part of abstract moments of time, where he/she believes in things that do not exist in reality. Because this person is now travelling on the altered highway of time. Time that only feeds the core of this region, where time abounds. And due to these surplus moments of time that are yet to form real and well defined highways of time, this person begins to meander in these time waves for eternity. Where he she believes that he/she is travelling in the desired direction, but in reality he/she is travelling within a circle of eternity. Thus, the person gets trapped in this region.


We know this, but we cannot avoid it once our moments of time have been driven to this highway of undefined time by fate. That is what most of us believe!


However, a few of us do not agree with fate related theory, we believe there is something else going on that forces the moments of time to venture into these seemingly misleading highways of time.


As we get closer to this region, we will lose everything; one another, our characteristics, our known sensations, our memories, and most important of all, ourselves; as we get sucked into the core of this region where surplus moments of time will redefine our destiny in the eternal circle of time. And these being fresh and virgin moments of time, we will be like minds that are completely blank. 


We are aware of this, and this is one reason we have been injected with nano chips that store our memories, and these chips are connected with our brains. The moment we enter the core zone of this region, these chips will get activated, and we will once again be able to feel our lost sensations and recall our memories. At this stage we will begin our research. We are hoping nothing will go wrong and all our devices will work properly. 


To be sure that fate does not invade our sanity in this region, we have adopted a 3 layered backup procedure. Where, whatever device or brain augmentation setup has been integrated with our bodies, exists in a tri-layered setup. 


For example:


If the memory chip 1 fails due to some reason, there are two other memory chips to offer us backup. That is, in case the first memory chip fails to operate. And not only that, we have engineered three different pathways to connect these chips with our brains. If pathway one associated with chip 1 is corrupt, we can initiate chip 2 using pathway 2 to interact with our brains.


And it is the same with all your smart devices.


There are 8 of us and we are flying in 8 different spacecrafts. As we enter the region, our main communication systems will be rendered ineffective and then only our special network devices designed to work in this environment will keep us partially connected. This technology is based on gravitational waves, where each gravitational wave is unique and it has been merged with two other waves to make these waves exclusive and identifiable. Due to this configuration these waves will not be absorbed by this region and will maintain their identities.


In addition to this, each spacecraft has been fitted with a device that identifies these variations of gravitational waves, which this region cannot mimic. And via these waves we will be able to communicate and transfer our thoughts in morse code like format. 


It took us 3 years to develop the vocabulary specific to this mission, so that we could communicate in this region using this specific vocabulary. Because every wavelength of each unique wave can be altered, and the frequency of these alterations and intensity of these waves, represents a word from the mission specific vocabulary.


We had to associate words with each wavelength because it added ease and speed to the process of communication. And the available spectrum of wavelengths supported this procedure. Once our device receives a set of wavelengths another system decrypts these wavelengths. And displays the word/s formed by these varying sets of wavelengths.


This is why we developed mission based vocabulary and defined specific wavelengths for each word. It made the process of communication easier and faster.


Here is how.


Suppose I get trapped in this region and my spacecraft is not able to move. My message to my fellow team members will be as follows:


Spacecraft stuck. Engine firing. Not moving. Need extra booster engines from Ace spacecraft.


This sentence comprises 13 words.


Now each word will be represented by a specific wavelength.

And for this mission we have defined 350 words and that many wavelengths.


Once our device receives the message, it is interpreted by it as follows:


X - Y - XY - XXY - XXYY - XXXY - XXXYY - XXXXY - XXXXYY - XY -

XXXXYYY - XXXXXYYY - X


And our database/dictionary of wavelengths instantly decodes these wavelength variants and displays the message on our screen as follows:


Spacecraft stuck. Engine firing. Not moving. Need extra booster engines from Ace spacecraft.


Message stopper or period is denoted by a common wavelength = XYXY

And this combination of wavelengths is not represented in any word.


Now we have entered the region and our memory chips along with other smart devices are active. But there is something wrong, we are not receiving any signal from one of our spacecrafts and that spacecraft is extremely important. It carries all our booster engines, and other peripherals that our spacecrafts require on missions of this nature. And our screens are flashing with a common message.


Ace spacecraft. Missing. No contact.


But we had prepared for all possibilities beforehand with a three layered backup system.


Our spacecrafts are fitted with a highly unique metal alloy that can be detected by our proton wave emitters. This alloy attracts these protons almost like the north pole seeking the south pole. And these proton waves are so designed that they can pierce through the gravitational field of this region and not get lost in its mysterious forces. At least we are hoping they will not lose their nature and their affinity towards the alloy.


So, we fire our proton wave emitters and wait. After 10 minutes we all receive confirmation messages about alloy detection of Ace spacecraft by the respective proton waves. And this too was custom engineered. 


Because each proton wave is supposed to detect 7 spacecrafts, excluding itself. And to achieve this, we had used a very simple but well thought logic. 


Once the proton wave detected the alloy, the wave emitter recorded it. Because each spacecraft had different concentrations of these alloys. When it received a confirmation of a detection; it registered it as detection specific to one of the spacecrafts with which the alloy concentration matched. And then it fired a proton wave with a different intensity to detect another spacecraft with a lower or higher concentration of alloy. This way we could locate all spacecrafts. 


We all received detection confirmation for all 8 spacecrafts. But we were still not receiving any message from the Ace spacecraft ( the spacecraft that was not traceable ) Although through the proton wave detection, we all knew its location and it was there somewhere in the region. 


In this region navigating with precision to another spacecraft was risky. Therefore we had to rely on the next layer of backup.


Under this layer we had used something extremely novel. 


If you have ever experienced listening to a song with high musical beats on powerful woofer speakers, you will notice that whenever there is  a drum beat, it creates a wave like effect that you can easily feel when you take your fingertips close to the speaker. If there is a sound of trumpet the sound wave feels different, if it is a bass guitar, the wave feels completely different.


Similarly. In scenarios where a spaceship enters a communication blackout, if we receive no communication from one of the spaceships in 5 minutes from entering these regions we consider it having entered into a communication blackout state.


At this point, the pilot of the spaceship is supposed to emit a wavelength cluster of words that express his situation. And this cluster of wavelengths has to stay active for 30 minutes or more.


Then as our communication wavelengths intersect this cluster of wavelengths, they experience a moment of wavelength kiss. A sort of impact. And each impact frequency experienced by the wave represents a word.


And through this technology we are able to receive the message from the spaceship unable to establish communication.


When our communication systems studied these wavelength impacts, the message from the Ace spacecraft read as follows:


Experiencing gravitational drag. Employed 11 booster engines. Out in 5 minutes. Reconnection in 7 minutes.


It was a relief to know. So we waited, and in 7 minutes we received the communication we all had been waiting for:


Ace Spacecraft. Optimum boost achieved


And then we flew into the core of this region. Where we studied time and how it alienates the person from his/her main highway of time. Here is what we deduced:


Time is spread across the universe depending upon the expansion and varying intensities of the gravitational web that exists around the universe. But in these regions, the one where we are now, gravity exists in a highly balanced state. It is so balanced that time neither moves slowly nor too fast, it moves in its ideal state. And that ideal state is the sum total movement of the universe and all its celestial bodies, factoring in their respective time flows. 


And these regions are very important for maintaining the balance of  the universe because they act as diagnostic centres of the universe. If there is any alteration in a time wave, the beings in the highest realm, that is the final realm of the universe, understand that something is wrong somewhere and the universe enters into self repair mode in these affected regions. Without these time wave based signatures it would be difficult to identify these regions. 


In order to maintain the purity of this region, anything that flies in from outside, tends to automatically lose the sense of time that he/she is aware of. Because in this region, the core where new time highways are generated constantly, these time highways are composite forms of moments that bear no attribute at all. They are pure time, nothing else, because they are not associated with anything and anyone. To the extent that these moments of time travel on exclusive time highways, with which gravitational variations rarely tend to interfere. 


And we did not want to interfere with the region’s unique composition, and that's why we were travelling in spacecrafts with sensors enabling them to imitate the main forces of the universe to meet the specifications of this region. For which we had developed a huge database via the unmanned missions sent by the inter-planetary council to these regions.


The sensors on our spacecrafts could detect and then imitate:


  • Gravity

  • Time

  • Space

  • Light

  • Magnetic forces

  • Electric forces

  • Charges

  • Particle composition/behaviour and particle generated waves

  • Etc. etc.


By imitating these forces we did not disrupt anything in this region. And by the time we had concluded our research, our spacecraft had entered the main gravitational field of this region, and now we had to use the extra thrust from booster engines that were part of the Ace Spacecraft’s cargo.


Once again, using the proton beams and special alloy detection method, these booster engines located each spacecraft without any manual assistance. And auto adjusted with the chambers reserved for these extra booster engines in each spacecraft. As soon as the procedure had been completed in all spacecrafts, we flew out of this region.


Finally we were in the space that we knew. Where time existed as we had always known it.


But one of our pilots showed signs of mild physical stress. And one of us had to remotely navigate her spacecraft to the planet we hail from. 


Now we will first examine the impact on her spacecraft, because only then will we be able to determine the actual cause or causes of her physical stress. 


If her particle behaviour detection sensor had failed, then we will have to check if she had been subjected to any heavy radiation. Which is very likely when the sensor responsible for particle behaviour analysis fails. When that happens, the spacecraft is unable to activate shields and other systems that protect the pilots from these radiations. It can be anything, and that is why we are scanning the spacecraft and examining the history of each sensor.

Sometimes the human mind can get locked in the paucity of scientific imagination and no matter how obsequious we might be towards the cause of scientific advancements; we find it difficult to deal with the limitation of scientific imagination. However, in the science fiction novel, They Loved in 2075, you will notice that the human race is suffering from emotional limitation. That they have developed due to the infiltration of self aware machines who can produce synthetic emotions, into human societies. And over the course of time, it has led to a condition where the humans are now not able to express or feel love.


In this state of emotional emergency, where humanity is faced with an emotional embargo, a boy falls in love with a girl, who is unable to emote like humans. Because of her excessive dealings with self aware machines. 


And the world in 2075, is caught in a brutal war. War between self aware machines and humans who still are aware of true human feelings and emotions.


Now to know if the girl is able to love the boy like a human, you must read the scifi novel, They Loved in 2075. 


You see, love and feelings in 2075, will acquire new wavelengths which human minds will be unable to recognise. Yet few humans will be able to feel and love. 


But how?


Well, that is what the scifi novel, They Loved in 2075 is about!
