Best selling science fiction books. The diamonds

Best selling science fiction books. The diamonds

A scifi reader does not like to pay for a scifibook, he/she chooses to pay for a superbly magnificent idea that allows him/her to harvest the most radiant gems of knowledge from it. Therefore, it is important for the best selling #scifibooks to be based on an idea that leads to the revolution of thoughts. Then the mind does not take any delight in hiatus like moments. Because experienced and knowledgeable #scifi readers know that the end of everything is certain, but when this certainty will be realised is uncertain. It can be anytime and any day; therefore, they waste no time in reading books that offer no scope to harvest ideas that illuminate billions of neurons via a single stimulus of single scientific realisation. And it is only for these flashes of scientific enlightenment that scifi readers love reading #scifibooks. Because when these flashes of virgin stimuli are felt across the neural network by this #scifi reader, he/she feels a new surge of innovative thoughts shining like diamonds in the minefield of ideas in his/her mind.

It is for these diamonds of knowledge that a #scifi reader invests in his/her favourite #scifibooks, which often happen to be the best selling science fiction books.

I have used the word diamond on purpose. Because knowledge is like a diamond. Just like diamonds are formed by  a super compressed state of carbon in absence of oxygen. Where carbon is subjected to this incredibly intense compression  for millions of years. Similarly a core scientific idea that I believe every individual is born with, if enveloped by new layers of related ideas. The core idea keeps getting compressed in this super compression chamber of knowledge, until there arrives a moment when the core idea develops into a diamond. That the scifi reader can retrieve now and let the world witness its true splendour. Because diamonds are not meant to be placed on shelves as decoration pieces, diamonds enhance beauty so they should be displayed. And similarly, knowledge should not be kept encased in one’s mind because you fear someone might get more intelligent. It should be shared because only then it will gain its true lustre of a diamond that dazzles and sparkles the minds of those who seek knowledge.

And it is for this reason alone that scfi readers buy #scifibooks.

If it is so, then why are not all #scifi readers great inventors and discoverers? This question is not ridiculous but it makes sense. And I would answer it without sounding too impetuous or logically scandalous. Haa haa! I know you understand what I am referring to!

So, coming to the answer.

Many of us study physics, but why is there only one Mr. Albert Einstein? A lot of us study literature, but why is there no one like Mr. Hemingway? Quite a number of us are born with an artistic flair we love to paint, but why was there only one Mr. Gustav Klimt? There are many smart innovators and technology enthusiasts who appear on the scene of technology and create epoch-like moments, just like late Mr. Steve Jobs. Why isn't there anybody like him? Although everyone is busy manufacturing smartphones today, but his genius was different; even the apple company that manufactures the smartest phones, has not been able to make it any smarter than his time. Because his detail for hardware design and then its synchronisation with software is unmatched still. But why is it so? Also Mr. Bill Gates takes the credit for making computers a utility. Simply by doing something amazing with DOS and re-engineering it to offer the world the Graphic User Interface based OS. That was brilliant and way too futuristic. But lately Microsoft company has got caught in the quagmire of redundancy. And why is it so? Moreover, why isn't there anyone like Ms. Agatha Christie?

I am sure there are many of you who hold other smart people as their ideals, and I am sure by not mentioning them here, I do not deserve aspersions from their fans. Even if I somehow do, that would only mean they truly idealise them. And I commend you for that, as for your asperity, I can deal with it! Because I too am someone’s fan.

So why do only  few of us happen to cross the threshold of common intelligence, enabling them to harvest the diamonds of knowledge? Whereas few of us are not able to do so?

Maybe the answer lies somewhere in the process when the diamond is developing under its super condensed state. Under a lot of pressure; to be exact. Because under pressure there are only two likelihoods that logic can validate. You either break under pressure, or you develop into a diamond. If it were not so, the world would have been a cussed place to live in, because humans instead of coal would have discovered diamonds, and if anything is found in abundance it loses its value. So you see where it is leading to, I am sure you do!

I believe it is all about pressure, but there is something strange about pressure too. Because nature is not biased, it is something that if understood with a lot of attention, bears all answers to all questions.

It bears very clear answers to immortality, dark energy, gravity as the new means of travel, neural meshes, future generation computers that will break all barriers of computation, machines that will behave exactly like #scifi movies: a car that can transform into a bike, even into a robo-cop and what not. Just a single unit able to transform itself into multiple orientations physically. And it is possible. Self charging computers etc. etc. there is no end! All you need to do is look around you and then subject yourself to a lot of pressure. Where you either break or you develop into a diamond. And when that happens you will become Mr. Albert Einstein or Mr. Steve Jobs. And if it does not turn out to be this way, you do not become a lesser being. You are still you, a great man or a great woman, because you tried and you suffered a lot under pressure. Only that the world does not know about it; but you do. And that is what matters the most. In case of a few, like Mr. Jobs, the whole world knows about them. But that doesn't mean a person about whom the world knows nothing is a lesser being. It only means one thing, that this person is still trying, still suffering; even if that means trying until his/her last day on this planet.

That is what true resilience and human will to seek knowledge should be like. The furnace of life should always stay ignited.

And the best selling #scifibooks add fuel to this furnace of life, they place the core thought of #scifi readers under more pressure, and when pressure on the core thought increases it is bound to develop into a diamond. But then diamonds should be shared with someone special, someone you love. They are not meant to be shared with just anybody. They can be admired by all, but diamonds should be worn by the one you love!

No wonder they say, “diamonds are forever.” Do you know why?

Here is why? Because they have sustained so much pressure for so long that they become indestructible. That is why diamond is the toughest known substance. And that is what real men and women should be like- Diamonds born from the chambers of extreme and intense pressure.

And #scifibooks will always take this credit of showing the #scifi readers the tracks that lead to glory. Glory that was experienced by Mr. Steve Jobs, Mr. Albert Einstein, and many others. At this moment a word of caution would serve all of us well. That it is not always men and women who should seek glory. The goal should be to lead a life so that it becomes one of the most unique stories. A story that your friends and family can share with others with pride. Rest is destiny.

I know, humans are born to define destiny too.

Nature is like an encyclopedia of ideas where science is taking place in everything at every moment. And the best selling #scifibooks take references from nature and then weave them into a fiction based story. Driven by a scientific idea which actually is inspired by something that the author imagined after witnessing it in the nature around him/her. And human imagination is also part of nature that one interacts with. And #scifibooks are nothing, but a collation of many nature inspired imaginations.

How?

You really caught me this time. I need to think about the how part. Please give me a moment. Let me think, rather let me look outside my window and seek some inspiration from nature. Please do not go anywhere. I will be right here with you.

Just a moment!

Ah! Ok I got it!

I was walking today on the highway, when I had this idea. That in future humans will develop smart roads. How smart can these roads or highways be? Most people think a smart city is about planting trees, underground electric wires, etc. etc. But that is not a smart city. If you have had the fortune of visiting India, and there you happened to visit a few ancient places. I am certain you would agree those places and forts are far smarter architectural wonders than our present day cities. So what will smart roads be like in the future?

I believe they will be so smart that they will become highways of power generation. How? Well, I answered that earlier. Diamonds should be shared only with those you love. Now you might say I am contradicting myself because I also said knowledge should be shared because it is only then that it grows. Yes, knowledge should be shared, but innovation is not knowledge. It is an invention that needs to be protected by patent rights as well. Correct?

But I can share this much for sure, the idea is so basic that if it is applied it will revolutionise the power generation industry. In the future, with the application of technology we will be able to create a lot of jobs  that will require human involvement. Smart cities should aim at creating Eden on Earth. And one important part of Eden is to generate jobs for humans. It is not only about making a city look beautiful it should feel beautiful. Moreover, with humans suffering and cities looking beautiful for just a few, it maybe a smart city, but it cannot be part of a city in Eden. That is where the true difference lies when it comes to the words: Smart and Intelligent. In Europe and in America, I believe they are already working on Eden based city models. And we should never feel inferior when it comes to learning new things, no matter from who or where. But then adopting it like an exact replica is not the right way, adapting it to meet the needs of the target location is what is very important.

Not only that, in a smart city one should be able to address important points like:

  • Waste water management
  • Run off water management
  • Rain water management
  • Flood management including extreme points of flood that should take into consideration historical data of 150 years minimum
  • Rise in temperatures and crop management
  • Self sufficiency of the city. And this point covers more than 20 subsets
  • Balancing data checks i.e. death rate versus birth rate versus economic growth etc. etc. This is the main aspect that smart cities should cover
  • Windows with smart glass panels including solar glass panels
  • Use of toxicity absorbing and neutralising smart material

There is endless data that needs to be considered before we even dare to use the word smart with a city. A gate that opens with a remote control is not a smart gate, it is only an “electronically operated gate.” There are a lot of aspects that go into the word smart when it is used with cities. And the list shared by me above is just a drop in the ocean. I have not even touched other important topics: supply chains, architectural design, landscaping, use of locally available materials and skills, it is an endless list.

And #scifi readers understand the true meaning of the word smart, because it does not mean intelligent. Smart is always intelligent too. That is why the modern day phones are called smart phones, because they have a quotient of intelligence integrated into them. And smart cities of the future will be like these smartphones in many ways. So smart that they will amaze even Mr. Ridley Scott.

In the end it is all about how far can humans stretch their imagination and how long would they allow themselves to be subjected to extreme pressure. And pressure comes in different intensities, depending upon how many ideas you are dealing with and how innovative these ideas are. For everything else you can take a smart guess.

Then you will either allow yourself to walk into the chamber of pressure and claim glory, or stay outside the chamber, and still be the one who believed in a great story, a wonderful idea; and kept trying relentlessly. The winner may take it all, but the winner can never take one thing from you, your will to compete with him/her every next time and every time! Because winners are not born, many are made in the chambers of pressure and born from the furnaces of life.

And there is one #scifibook that offers you the opportunity to shine like a diamond, and if nothing, help you claim your moment of greatness. It is titled: They Loved in 2075.

I will not share more details on it, because just like I paused and looked outside the window to answer your question, you should pause and read this #scifibook. It will offer you the window that opens into one grand view. The view of your true wisdom and your imagination that is desperate to transform into the diamond that shall only and forever belong to you. You already know the #scifibook is titled: They Loved in 2075. So, why wait and keep yourself from becoming the diamond you are born to be!

It is time you shone to outshine everyone else!
